Because it has threads that have been active for years? Keeping conversations in a single thread instead of starting multiple on the same topic is a good thing.

I agree 100% zombie threads should die. If something new comes up about something from 2 years ago, just start a new thread. The posts from long ago have no value.
Those aren't zombie threads. Those are mega threads.
Of course they have value. Makes the board cleaner; provides background and context; shows when someone predicted something accurately or, for example, predicted that the NFL would be out of business in a couple years.
You want someone to start a new thread every time someone has a thought about Brian Ferentz?
The Wordle and NYT Connections threads should be pinned at the top.
And the board rules thread needs to go away. Its useless
