This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Looks like Wagner finally ran out of cannon fodder....

Wagner forces taking ‘tactical pause’ in Bakhmut, says US thinktank

Private mercenary group Wagner appears to be taking a “tactical pause” in Bakhmut, the US thinktank the Institute for the Study of War said in its daily update a short while ago.

The ISW believes that Wagner is waiting for until enough reinforcements of conventional Russian troops have arrived before taking a backseat in the fierce battle – the most violent fight of the war.

“The arrival of an increased number of conventional #Russian forces to the area may suggest that Russian forces intend to offset the possible culmination of #Wagner’s offensive operations in #Bakhmut with new conventional troops,” the ISW said.

I have found this guy to have legit and accurate info. This is incredible.

Make sure to read it close and grasp the one properly trained and armed guy killing 200 guys with probably no training and inferior weapons and armor in 10 days part. I am even more convinced this has been and continues to be a giant honeypot.

As well he should.

Shame to see the infighting. :)

I know deer hunters who are more reflective about their tallies than this guy.
I have read a few things about snipers throughout history and it's amazing the place they put themselves mentally to kill so mechanically, yet so personally.

Not sure about the whole plasma thing:)
Edit-may be real.
"However, these data have not yet been confirmed by independent experts. If the Kinzhal is really a full-fledged hypersonic missile, then there must be an interesting phenomenon around it. Due to the incredible friction, the air near the rocket body must turn into a plasma state.

Theoretically, this should create small additional radio interference, but also has a negative effect on the body of the device. In flight, the rocket should look as if it were in a fiery cocoon."

"According to the source.. It is believed that this is a Russian Kinzhal missile. As for why it looks like a fireball, the reason is that it is protected by a layer of hot plasma that forms a cover around the missile and protects it from being dropped, so NASAMS and NATO systems could not shoot it down."

If you actually open the link there are several stories listed. Sadly one is about Switzerland standing firm about refusing to let their weaponry be transferred to a third country (Ukraine). It's odd which principles they choose to stand on.

"It seems to me that all the countries located around the Russian Federation should draw their own conclusions about how dangerous it is to take a path towards engagement with the United States' zone of responsibility, its zone of interests."

The remarks from Putin's top diplomat indicate the level of nervousness in Moscow over the weakening of its authority everywhere from Armenia and Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in Central Asia."

They’re scared. The domino effect is real. The Baltics, Poland, Ukraine, and now Georgia. There’s a better life out there.

Western sanctions were supposed to strangle Russia’s economy after the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. A year later, though, it hasn’t ground to a halt. One big reason: The ability of the U.S. and its allies to dictate global trade flows in high-technology items like microchips has, so far, proven much less effective than many had assumed.

While Russia-bound exports of semiconductors, machinery and other equipment from places like the U.S., the European Union and Japan have dropped sharply, firms in numerous sanctions-skeptical Asian and Middle Eastern jurisdictions—especially China, Turkey and Hong Kong—have stepped into the breach, selling their own equipment or reshipping foreign goods to Russia. Both Russian customs data provided to The Wall Street Journal by national-security nonprofit C4ADS and official data from China, Turkey and elsewhere demonstrate how quickly trade flows have reorganized after an initial dip in early 2022.
