This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

I’d imagine so. Which is why the US and other nations need to continue support.
Yep. Like I've said earlier I thought support would start to waiver but if anything it seems to be getting stronger.

Add China's recent comments I don't think Putin can outlast Ukraine.

He's gonna start really looking for an "off ramp" pretty soon...don't think he'll get one that he'd find palatable.

EU meeting today, with Zelensky in attendance. Sometimes these produce promises of additional aid, or at least a voicing of support.
Further analysis of Putin’s strength will be discussed by the assembled leaders.

In Ukraine, no visible path leads to a Russian victory. Putin keeps inventing stories about how Russia will inevitably prevail: First, it was supposed to win easily by removing the government in Kyiv, then by seizing the Donbas, then by destroying Ukraine’s crucial infrastructure, then by freezing Europeans last winter, then by waiting until the West grew tired of supplying Ukraine with weapons. Many in Russia were once willing to believe Putin’s fairy tales, but few can now pretend to believe that a good end is in sight. Rather, a defeat is looming, and even though the word is virtually prohibited for public use, it comes up more and more often in private conversations. In his public appearance during the mutiny, Putin finally hinted at the real possibility of a defeat, openly invoking the “dagger in the back” metaphor that was used to fuel resentment in Germany after it lost in World War I.

In addition to direct military aid, the humanitarian aid is critical to Ukraine. I know some evacuations have occurred to Western hospitals, but this need to be upped as casualties increase due to the offensive. If nations don't want to support with military aid, ask them to pay the hospital/rehab bills.

I've never really understood the rationale that Ukraine should not attack Russia in it's borders. It is like fighting with one arm tied behind your back.

Half measures never work
1. It does have some effect on some people that could make aid less likely.
2. I don't think attacking too far inside Russia helps Ukraine. They could not engage in deep/strategic strikes consistently. I want them to have everything they need to go about 75-100 miles inside Russia to hit tactical targets. I want them to be able to hit every inch of Crimea.

I mean Russia supposedly annexed these regions so they are “Russian” in russias eyes. If that’s the case then i agree, let’s send a few long range missles at Moscow

While I agree with this, there needs to be something done to put pressure on the Russians. They have felt nothing at home so all the lies the gov is feeding them probably feels real.

A couple missles in Moscow and the war is done. There is no resolve in the Russian population.

Further, I question how many moms and dads in Russia have been informed that their son/daughter is dead. I guarantee you if United States lost 100k soldiers attacking Canada there would be a coup

You mean, after the War of 1812 ;)

Yep, thats why:rolleyes:

I'm just confused by the analogy. I feel like a civil war with open rebellion and invading a nation is apples and oranges.

If you wanted to go that way, we didn't need to take over London to win the Rev War. We just had to out last them. Thank goodness for Cornwallis sucking as a Southern Commander and Clinton being moved to the North.
