This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

If they blow up the nuke plant, I think you will see swift NATO shock and awe.

I'm going to say again that I had a couple of clients that married to order brides. Russian lady was insane. She is now in one of the last "sanitoriums" around.

The ending of this war is not an if, but a when
I would echo the Russians are insane shit. I knew two scientists who were functioning alcoholics. Each drank a full vodka bottle per day. I don't even know how they were alive.

If they were attacked by NATO?

Has a country losing a war ever not used the most powerful weapon in its inventory?

We are talking about millions of lives lost and ecological destruction. If they lose after using one, which they would, in my opinion the Russian state would cease to exist.

That is the complete end of Russia never to return to its current state. I don't know if Putin risks that... as crazy as he is.

I saw on CNN just today that the average life expectancy for Russian men has been steadily going down for quite some time. Alcohol abuse is one of the biggest reasons.

I think odds are they wouldn’t but what kind of odds is NATO/US willing to roll the dice on? I don’t think they’d be willing to take that risk….except Poland. They hate the Russians probably just as bad as the Ukrainians.

I think Russia is great at posturing as this has been a play the entire time. Just like the nuclear facility. I don't think they blow that.

Asking you because you seem to know a ton about this. What percentage of nuclear warheads are actually functional in Russia? I mean, they have 2,500 so it's not like it takes many to do apocalyptic damage.

They’re effective weapons….but there’s a reason people want to ban them

They’d be great for killing Russians, but my fear is how many Ukrainians would be taken out clearing a trench or just in an open area by a leftover? A kid scrounging for scrap metal? Or, a farmer 2 years from now?

Plus Covid. They had no response. They’re vaccine is garbage. I posted something months ago from the Economist about the plunge in life expectancy for Russian men.
Add to that the flight of healthy young men to other countries and Russia is facing a demographic typhoon.
Edit: Can’t find it, but Russia had something like the 2nd or 3rd worst mortality rate from Covid, and the death count was staggering considering their total population.

Russian POWs..half of them look like they’ve been living on Skid Row.

It’s just one picture, but throw it together with the stories of poor morale, and the videos of drunks at recruit depots and I can’t see how the Russians don’t collapse. Sure, they are dug in, and you fight to survive, but the quality is low, and spread out over 800 miles of front lines.

If you leave Moscow or St. Petersburg, the rest of the country is like a 6th world shithole.

Interesting in a scary way to see comments in the stories about the Zaporizhzhia NPP being evacuated that many Ukrainian workers are leaving because they fear being labeled collaborators. Many were forced to sign pledges to Russia, and contract to Russian companies.

No idea but it’s reasonable to assume that a percentage aren’t serviceable…..what that percentage is who knows.

A very real concern.

In an existential conflict, job 1 is to continue existing. Cleanup is a concern once your threat to existence passes, imho.

Anyone know what the Russians have for chemical or biological weapons. Seems like Russia could use a chemical or biological attack on advancing Ukraine troops and it would be easier to deny involvement. But I really don’t know much about these weapons.
