This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Launched from a civilian vessel? I’m not sure I like that. Gives Russia cover for blowing everything up in the Black Sea.
I doubt they go that far. Their bark is always worse than their bite.

I imagine we would move a carrier group or two in if they sink a single civilian vessel. Then it would be no fly zone time. The only real naval threat Russia has to the US / British fleet is their submarines. It would be suicide for them to engage NATO in a naval conflict.

To me launching a weapon from a civilian vessel is like the Russians loading up tourists on to one of their warships to take them on vacation in Crimea. If Ukraine did actually launch from a civilian vessel then it was dumb to announce it.

“Law enforcement agencies and relevant services are at work. I spoke to the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev, and measures are being taken to ameliorate the situation,” Aksenov said.
Yeah, sure Ivan. You gonna just throw up that spare bridge you have laying around by tomorrow morning? 😂😂😂

Oh those wacky Russians!

"General Andrei Kartapolov, put forward the brilliant idea that the Russian armed forces should seize the Suwałki corridor (*) It seems to have forgotten that now it is located on the territory of 2 member countries of #OTAN"

Thereby justifying Poland's immediate seizure of Kaliningrad - that nonsense Baltic cookie.

Hope the damage report will have to be updated soon.

We have one in the Med, but the Black Sea is a bath tub, and nobody gets in without the Turks giving a thumbs up. That's part of the problem with the grain deal. Only the Russians and Turks can really project much naval power into the Black Sea. At least the Ukrainians have picked a few ships off.
