This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

You have to wonder if these hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers killed or captured would have been avoided if the House GOP would have extended the aide in December, rather than nothing since.

A reminder: This is why McCarthy was ousted - he was going to put up a stand alone Ukrainian support bill for a vote. So MTG/Gaetz took Trump's orders to oust him for a MAGA that would do his bidding and cut off aid.

Johnson was put in place to block Ukrainian aid, full stop. That's why he's there. There will be no Ukrainian aid bill brought up while he's Speaker. Trump is under orders from Vladimir "if Western aid stops, we will win" Putin.

Oust just a few reps, and put the House back under the dems, and aid to Ukraine will flow again. Vote accordingly.

BS @binsfeldcyhawk2 told me it was all the Democrats fault.

Support for Ukraine among Europeans remains broad, but nearly two years after the full-scale invasion barely 10% now believe it can defeat Russia, according to an EU-wide survey – with some form of “compromise settlement” seen as the most likely end point.

The shift in sentiment – this time last year, more Europeans than not said Ukraine must regain all its lost territory – will demand that politicians take a more “realistic” approach that focuses on defining what an acceptable peace must actually mean, the report’s authors argue.

“In order to make the case for continued European support for Ukraine, EU leaders will need to change how they talk about the war,” said co-author Mark Leonard of the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), which commissioned the polling.

Trying to play dead or suicide or just that stupid?

"Confusing clip, a wounded Russian comrade crawled close to a burned comrade, explosives (possibly grenades) in the fire exploded... as a result, the comrade turned from a wounded soldier into a martyr always."

Didn’t the Democrats vote in favor to oust McCarthy?

It's pretty amazing that 2 years in we're still falling short on a low tech item like 155mm ammunition. The U.S and our NATO allies have been talking about it for quite a while now.

On the plus side...at least it's being addressed for future needs.

The Rock Island Arsenal has to have had a new lease on life. Been talk over the years of closing it...

"Kyiv will "firmly respond" to any attempts to involve the Russian-controlled Moldovan region of Transnistria in Russia's war against Ukraine and destabilize the situation in Moldova, the Foreign Ministry said amid increased Russian pressure on the Eastern European country.

Transnistria is internationally recognized as part of Moldova. Russian troops have occupied Transnistria since the early 1990s when Russia invaded the region under the pretext of protecting ethnic Russians.

Moldova has called Russia's military presence in Transnistria illegitimate and called for the withdrawal of Russian forces.

There have been heightened tensions between Moldova and Transnistria since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine when there were fears that armed conflict could erupt in Moldova."

"Left bank of Kherson, a short-range air defense system - 9K35 "Strela-10" and a Russian air defense system 9K331 "Tor-M1" were destroyed by Ukraine near the village of Mykhailivka, Kherson region. (35 km from the front line)."

A lot of it comes down to help Russia has got resupplying their arsenal by such awesome countries like China, North Korea, and Iran. Amazing the GOP, the party that deserves credit for winning the Cold War, is now aligned with Russia, Iran, China and North Korea vs US and NATO. But. Here. We. Are.

It's not the GOP writ large...it's too big a segment of it, concede that.

If the foreign aid package can get to the floor...it will pass.

This is the cold, hard truth. The GQP has aligned itself with some of the most brutal, autocratic countries on the planet. Countries openly hostile to US interests.

It is not all of the GOP but it is more than a big segment. I would estimate about 75% of republicans / the MAGA base is that big now. Which is reflected in the Orange guy polling 30-35% over Nikki in her home state of South Carolina despite him saying what he said about not defending NATO. Also reflected in the 70 percent favorable for supporting Ukraine. Most of that 30% are the MAGA base that is now well over half the GOP. They have taken over the entire party, in large thanks to Russian disinfo working hand and hand with GOP disinfo. They are colluding.

True.

I think there's also an unfortunate isolationist element in the party as well. Over reaction to the neo con days.

What’s the Goldilocks response to neocon policy of the last 30 years that brought us Iraq, Afghanistan, and the destruction in Ukraine?

Moldova and Ukraine need to go in there, round them up, and ship them back to Russia. 60 years late or whatever but the sooner the better. Then raze the communist symbolism from the area entirely. It is the prudent and humanitarian thing to do for both sides. The locals who would be used as pawns and the Moldovans/Ukrainians in that region always looking over their shoulders.

No need to leave a Stalin legacy in place like that. Compensate them with seized Russian assets and be done with it.

And though they must have explosives charges set in case Ukraine tries, it would be worth a shot to grab what they can from that legendary ammo dump.

"The Cobasna ammunition depot has been referred to as one of the largest if not the largest ammunition depot in Eastern Europe and contains up to 20,000 tons of Soviet-era weapons from the 14th Guards Army of the USSR and also from the former states of Czechoslovakia and East Germany."

Maybe just a little of this?
