This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

We are. If you Google lurk the north end of the naval base at Port Hueneme you can see one of the drone ships in port. They call it the "Ray", or something like that, for obvious reasons given its shape.

Awesome. They have be a hell of a lot cheaper to build than the massive ships. Also, you can have our troops in a safe place navigating them.

“According to the homeowner, Daraev became aggressive and refused to leave the property, at one point asserting that he was a Chechen national who had served in the Russian military and fought in Ukraine, although investigators have been unable to establish Daraev’s prior foreign military status,” the news release stated. “The homeowner reported that he then went to his residence and retrieved a handgun before returning to ensure his family’s safety until law enforcement arrived.”
...
Through family and co-workers, investigators discovered that Daraev was a Russian native from Chechnya who entered the U.S. across the southern border in mid-December 2022, and has since been living in Illinois, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sounds like Juan bad hombre.

Too bad the puppet actor and MiC and Blackrock wanted this to continue when should’ve ended years ago when offered. Lindsey G is blushing

"Three Russian airports were attacked at night. The military airports of Borisoglebsk, Baltimore and Savasleyka were hit. At the first two, locals reported fires as a result of the attacks, and at least 10 explosions were heard at Savasleyka."

Nice AP story about the incursion. It does seem like the Russians are regrouping. Hopefully the Ukrainians either planned to hold the territory, or have a solid plan for withdrawal in place.

Behind a paywall but the headline is good news. Means Ukraine's strategic objective of relieving pressure across the entire line may be achieved if this is true...

If someone could post the rest of the article that would be great :)

Russia Moves Some Troops From Ukraine to Fight Incursion, Kyiv and U.S. Say

Ukraine hopes that such a move will relieve pressure on frontline units. But Moscow appears reluctant to withdraw troops from eastern Ukraine, where it has been steadily advancing.

Unfortunately China has the manufacturing capacity to turn these things out in droves.

Changes the equation drastically in regards to any confrontation with them over Taiwan. China could simply initiate a blockade of Taiwan by putting thousands of these around the island...it'll be pretty tough to break it.

Ukraine’s incursion into Russia's Kursk region has now entered its sixth day.

The Institute for the Study of War has said in its latest statement that Ukraine’s Kursk campaign is a pivotal moment in the war with the potential to change its trajectory.
The US-based think tank says Ukraine has achieved operational surprise against significant odds at the border between the regions of Sumy and Kursk.
Despite recent milblogger claims that Russian forces were stabilising the frontline, the ISW argues that Ukrainian forces appear to be advancing further within Kursk region.
It said that Ukraine could restore operational maneuver by planning and conducting a series of smaller successive counteroffensive operations rather than attempting a single decisive blow.

The Russian Defence Ministry on Sunday released footage showing what it said was Russian armed forces fighting against Ukrainian troops in Russia’s Kursk border region.

The video showed military vehicles and tanks being hit by artillery and Su-25 fighter jets. Reporters cannot independently verify the date and location of the footage.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s incursion into Russia continued for a sixth day.

The attack, the largest of its kind since Russia's special military operation and unprecedented for involving Ukrainian units on Russian soil, caught Moscow off guard and was an embarrassment to Russian military leaders who are now struggling to contain the breach.

The exact aims of the operation remain unclear and Ukrainian military officials have adopted a policy of secrecy, presumably to ensure its success.

Military experts have said that it is likely intended to draw Russian reserves away from the intense fighting in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, and may strengthen Kyiv’s hand in any future negotiations with Russia.

It seems the Russians are in a Catch 22. They (shockingly) can’t defend their other borders at all and need the resources in Ukraine but if they pull those resources they risk losing their Ukraine territory.

Starting to think this incursion was to test out a theory they had to simply see how depleted Russia is internally due to being massively over committed in Ukraine.

We have the answer now and it is that they are in fact massively depleted and undefended and now this is big time embarrassing and a threat for Putin. It is a big problem for him because it cannot be hidden and even the propagandists seem waking up to how fragile a state Russia really is now militarily. Also, it provides a path to victory if they really are this depleted. They can work on surrounding occupied parts of Ukraine.

Not original thoughts but it seems russia put so many resources into making crimea impregnable on the ground and trying to expand on their other prior illegal gains, that they left the back door open and unattended, while out on a business trip. They will need to send someone back from the trip early or face losing everything.

Love that info graphic.

These drone strikes last night are another big blow. It’s not just on the ground lacking equipment and functional fighting troops but the lack of air defense. Planes and helicopters get shot down as they approach Ukraine positions and meanwhile they continue to have no answer to low speed propeller driven drones hitting refineries and airfields and military manufacturing spots deep in Russia.

Trying not too get to giddy, but holy hell it seems Russias military is so wobbly, so depleted, so overextended into another country it is on the verge of collapse.

I hope Ukraine throws everything at cutting of the main front supply and attacking their underbelly because I swear you could see a mass surrender of troops in Ukraine (not counting Crimea).

If #Ukraine want to achieve maximum impact with this new push into Russia, they’ll consider sweeping to South East to cut off supply lines to troops in Southern Ukraine and then press through to force Russians to fight two fronts.

I disagree. They are making progress by hitting the Russians where they ain’t.

Going to them to fight just brings in their artillery and everything else that is misplaced to fight in Kursk.

Ukraine needs to keep finding smaller detachments they can overwhelm, and for as long as possible avoid falling back into a slog with the Russians.

I’m hoping as Russia sends in reinforcements from Ukraine into Russia to halt the incursion, that Ukraine is able to have an “old time turkey shoot”, destroying the incoming convoys of tanks and troops.

Of course you feel this way. It’s been 11 days with no answer and a ton of embarrassment. They don’t have artillery to spare nor troops. I know you probably block @Tenacious E so you don’t have to look at the daily tally of lost equipment, but this is pretty much proof. And also LOL at “hitting Russia where they ain’t” as your premise in first place. Where they ain’t is on the border of freakin Ukraine, a country they are invading. Major copium from you this morning.

Awesome. Another Russian troll I can block. FU Russian troll.
Put him on ignore a long time ago. Life is too short to read through nonsense. The more of these idiots we all block, the less reactions they get, and pretty soon they are like an old man shouting at a cloud. No one reacts to their posts, because no one sees their posts.

Ret. Admiral James Stavridis was on Lib TV this morning and he was complimentary of how the Ukrainians have made this operation a combined arms endeavor. Artillery, drones, armor and ground forces all working together. Just like Western trainers have been instructing them to do.

That’s my point! They’re making this kind of progress because it isn’t into the teeth of Russian defenses (like last summer’s offensive - or if you’d rather go way back, Operation Citadel).
This is way, way better application of forces in my opinion. You don’t go into prepared defenses, you seize the initiative and get the enemy to respond to you and dance your tune.
When Lee decided to invade Pennsylvania, it wasn’t to conquer, but to setup a fight in a place of his choosing that the Army of the Potomac couldn’t ignore and politically had to respond to.
The chance encounter at Gettysburg turning into a major attack by Lee was a mistake by Lee (he should have positioned himself the defender on good terrain) not what Jackson was trying to convince him to achieve by invading the North.

I know you probably block @Tenacious E so you don’t have to look at the daily tally of lost equipment, but this is pretty much proof.

Don’t have him blocked.
This is all your imagination to maintain a narrative you’ve created in your own head.

No dummy, I’m saying the troops invading Kursk should not wheel south and get tied down in fighting the Russians where they actually have their troops, artillery, and supplies.
Keep pushing east and north and force them to respond. Don’t go to them, that plays into their strength.
