I'd think in the US a move like that, expressly conducted in support of a terrorist organization, would get you facing treason charges.

I don't see how a move like this does not widen the war-Ukraine can't sit by and let that go unchallenged. And you would hope the West would make it clear that this is not acceptable.
This is how you eventually end up with NATO and Russian troops in direct combat. If North Korean troops fire on a kill Ukrainian soldiers what would stop Ukraine from sending troops to South Korea and drone attack North Korea targets? So basically WW3.
Ukraine doesn't have the troops to spare for something like that, South Korea wouldn't allow that anyway.

I wondered this about the drone factories in Iran too - wonder if it would be possible to sail a freighter to either country's waters within range of whatever munitions, rockets and drones Ukraine could store on board. Russia gets away with turning off transponders while they still grain so maybe Ukraine could too. Or maybe get in range to release their kamikaze water craft nearby North Korea and Iran harbors. (I dream big.)

The Ukrainians have great intel on where those NK weapons are going and when they will arrive. The beauty of hitting them is Russia is in desperate need of them as evidenced by them going straight to the front, and it’s nice that Russia has to spend hard currency for stuff that gets blown up before they can use it.

Ukraine has troops fighting Russians in Africa.
But I’m sorry, I can’t see that SK government doing that without the US government saying it was ok, which I can’t imagine for the reason it could draw us into direct conflict on the Korean Peninsula, which means not sending kit to Ukraine, unless you want our troops fighting shell starved.
FWIW my understanding (but I am old) is that this is actually a group of people from around the world that work together to do the hacking.
