Don't think Ukraine has the mobile army or air superiority to do so (thanks NATO) but Germany got in trouble when they went all in on Stalingrad and let their allies defend their flanks. The Soviet Union sliced through those allies and surrounded the German 6th Army.
Just wondering what could happen if that Ukrainian advance near Kharkov could continue north and east.

But they are "compromised", financially, or otherwise, by Russian oligarchs and interests.

I would guess Syrian troops are even less motivated to go fight in Ukraine than Russian troops. Also less prepared.
