“We fully plan on getting our asses kicked for the foreseeable future.”
My initial thoughts too “we got our ass kicked and will never be able to take”. Still, I think there are signs of cracking in Kremlin. People are saying things on state TV not echoing Putin’s unhinged dogma.that’s big of them. We got our ass kicked so we will leave you alone now.
In fact, he did, though "thankfully" his riffing was usually confined to domestic adversaries. Though there were also times where he was sort of refreshing in his tendency to not make predictions and to simply say "we'll see", and there were also times (easily identifiable because he was clearly reading) when he was obviously told to stay on script, and did. That last guy must have driven you batty, then.
Fine art joke:So I says, why the long face?
Dang. I thought this was gonna be a John Kerry joke.Fine art joke:
Hey Modigliani, why the long face?
Sure they have. I'm sure the guy that said that actually means it too.
So, kinda like Enron, with 45 more years of propaganda...The entire country is a house of cards built by 50 years of propaganda.
Actually, no.In fact, he did, though "thankfully" his riffing was usually confined to domestic adversaries.
Damn I'd love to have a beer with that guy.

Yep.
The Western world needs to wean itself off Russian money, just like it needs to wean itself off of Saudi oil.
If we'd spent 10% of the money on renewable energy systems that we've spent on military equipment and wars over the past 40 years, you'd probably be paying half what you currently are for energy, and be able to use 2x as much.
If Ukraine can create a good enough defense in depth, I wonder if troops from there or elsewhere in the country can reinforce the south and try to free the coast. They are already counterattacking there now.
The sheer incompetence of the entire Russian military at this point is beyond belief. It had to have been decades in the making, top to bottom. Outdated equipment, poor maintenance, horrible communication systems, clueless on logistics, worthless abilities to navigate, and pathetic tactics. About all they can do is launch artillery shells and bombs at civilian targets not shooting back.Looks like lots of Russians will be dying of radiation poisoning soon.

That would be amazing. Yes, it allows Russia to regroup and redeploy assets to the eastern front in Ukraine, but it could also eliminate fronts to the west of it, allowing more Ukrainian assets to focus on eastern Ukraine. Part of the concern was that Russia would overwhelm Ukraine with pure numbers and this could go a long way toward alleviating that concern.Hope this is real.
