This thread continues to be epic. From beginning with ha ha russia had an invading airplane of commandos blown out of the sky to wow Ukraine is putting up a fight, to war crimes in Bucha, to the resistance and eventual destruction of Mariupol, to Ukraine making headway, to Russia’s artillery grinding down cities and defenses, to the introduction of HIMARS, to the counterattacks we are seeing now. Just wow.

In one of the Twitter threads there was a reference to how quickly the collapse in both 1917 (?) and 1991 ocurred.

Built on shaky foundations, the structure eroded enough to finally, suddenly, uncontrollably collapse in a heap.

The days are few for pootin.

The Russian equipment losses are staggering. They just left everything.

Well their equipment was very highly likely never maintained correctly before or during the war. Their vehicles/tanks probably do not operate correctly, they knew it, and the generals probably sold off their fuel for vodka or foreign currency.

What would you do?

@SSG T what’s your take?

And that was the moment they realized, way too late, they were Ukrainian. It will be interesting to see how Ukraine handles the folks in East Ukraine if Russia won’t take them. Because I would not want them. I would want to strip them if citizenship and make them find a new country. But that is not a realistic solution.

Put them on trial for treason. If found guilty their sentence is to help rebuild Ukraine.
