This is the culmination of a months long campaign. Ukraine prepared the battlefield by taking out supply lines and key bridges. All those ammo dumps that caught fire. All the trucks and rail lines they destroyed.

I’m anxious to see how much ground they take.
 
Does anyone know what mobilization means in this context? How would it change what is going on in Ukraine?
I believe they have some elite units in other parts of the country, still. However, a mobilization would mean calling up and equipping reservists. Duh, I know. The point being we have seen crappy Russian units, and crappy equipment struggle. I don't know how reservists would fare better?
The main point would be that Russia would not be able to maintain the lie that this special military operation is going well. And, as mentioned throughout this thread and elsewhere, calling up reservists would mean calling up ethnic Russians from the metro areas, and that could spark unrest. A lot of the dying has been done by minority groups, and the poor from there far corners of Russia.
