This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Later the ching chongs also had Mig 21's which, at that time, were plenty formidable against the skyhawks and F-4 phantoms. Guided air to air missiles were still a joke and so actual dogfights took place.
Enjoy this vignette.
Hands down the most bad ass thing I’ve ever seen, or can honestly fathom, a fighter pilot doing. Fly by wire wouldn’t let this guy do what he did.
It’s amazing:

I f'ing hate Russia and Elon Musk. No offense PF. I imagine the Tesla is awesome but I can't afford it and I just assume Musk gave 0 input into it becoming a reality.

Welcome to feel that way. He has done a whole lot of good before this war and will do a whole lot of good after it. I suspect the parties who have rushed to judgment and taken a short term view will later regret having done so. If I were as badly misinformed and deceived by bad actors in the media I would probably feel the same way but I have watched a wholesale disinfo /psyops campaign against Musk, Tesla, & SpaceX unfold for the last two years. There are trillions at stake that are in opposition to him & his businesses and they control the prevailing media narratives.

Disruption at the scale he is doing naturally creates a lot of enemies.

That used to be a good program. I knew a southwest airlines pilot who actually got into dogfights in vietnam. Dude's retired now but great stories. I asked him if his 737 were that maneuverable and we both chuckled. Ironically, my current neighbor is also a retired USAF pilot who flew the 2 largest birds in the Airforce inventory, the C-5 and the C-17. He got a new car and his plate is C5C17. Another chuckle to be had.

You are right about his accomplishments but I honestly wonder if his autism isn't making him a bit mentally undone.

Good, all Russians should have a little skin in the ‘game’. Now they will get a taste of what the Ukrainians are experiencing.
Judging from the home towns listed in some of the articles is still looks like the remote areas are paying the heaviest price.

I imagine if anything he looks at things less emotionally, and more calculated.
That's not necessarily a good thing. Empathy is what separates humans from other creatures to a large extent. I don't want him to be an automaton.

Did your local politician contribute or aid Flint, Michigan in any way shape or form after it was found out that city & state officials had overseen giving human beings tainted water for years?

I live in Iowa, not Michigan and honestly both parties have a stink rot. I just contribute my own money to causes. I don't count on those people. They are frauds.

Can anyone explain this feigned outrage? Musk/SX didnt need to do anything - the fact theyre covering any of the bill is outstanding. All allies should be praising him/his teams for developing and delivering that tech - what wouldve happened w/o that quick onlining?
Musk suggested Ukraine should give up part of its country to end the war. Then, if you believe some of the info. his Starlink stopped working on the Eastern and Southern Fronts where Ukraine is pushing the Russians out. Then there was another rumor that a conversation with Putin started all of this. Which he denies. And finally today he is trying to get the US to assume more of the cost of the system.
I wonder if Putin threatened him.

Thanks for the synopsis - so a whole lot of rumors and zero legitimate justification. Seems par for the course

Which part of that makes it Musks responsibility to fund access to the tech?

What if instead he sold it to Russia?

Also, did it not come out that the reason it was down on the south and east front because the lines in the front were changing so fast and they needed to update the lines? Which they did relatively quickly?

He had one bad take for how to end the war, but the guy/SpaceX should be regarded heros for their contribution to the ukranian effort thus far.

My favorite thing is that his company can make a booster come back and land-amazing technology.

(He would have been in big trouble giving Starlink to Russia, IIRC technology transfers to Russia have been banned since 2014.)
