- Duvall is the best strength and conditioning coach in America
- nobody in the Big Ten develops qbs as well as Mario V
- Frost has the best track record of any coach in the Big Ten outside of Meyer
- Frost won media days and is the talk of college football on the national scene, this makes Harbaugh either happy or jealous
- turn around will be faster than most think... 9 to 10 wins isn’t out of the question, and contending for NT in 2-3 years. It will be a stoops like turn around
- Chinander is the best young defensive mind in the country, one of the best in Big Ten
- Ron Brown is a great hire
- with Mario V and S Frost, Martinez will be the best qb in the conf next year

its rinse and repeat from previous pre seasons(including last year). Yes, patience is leaving the building

no offense, but come on...

I’m not obsessed. I grew up on Neb football, live in lincoln, attended UI(7 degrees in family). I listen to the lunacy every drive home. It’s all true, was all said, and all funny. And I was just on the Husker board

I try never to let blowhards get to me because it is so much better to see how hard they have to back peddle when their BS is wrong.
The next best thing is to see the BS story to cover up the original BS, its such great entertainment.

I reside in NW Iowa and the "Go Big Red" crowd is getting pretty vocal. Their vaunted Black Shirt defense gave up over 6 yards a carry last fall and they are more concerned with....... the tunnel walk music and who is getting a "Black Shirt" to start the year. I hear a lot of noise about their offense which I agree Frost can put points up..... but very little discussion of their defense. It's Big Ten weather in November.... not sunny Orlando.

I listen to 1480 every day. No one is talking about national titles in 3 years, you might get Hail Varsity to speculate about contending for the conference title in that time. Prove me wrong with a snippet or recording, if you can.

These guys have to fill up a lot of radio time, but mostly they're fairly careful to manage expectations. The Husker fans I know, ie, everyone I meet, are cautiously optimistic after last years pain. They just want to see the team compete, never give up, stay physical and bought in.

Do you suppose I can pickup 1480 here in eastern Iowa?. Sounds like a breath of fresh air.

I would gladly trade you 1480 for 1650 out of Cedar Fall. Then we would both be happy.

Frost is a great hire most husker fans that i know are thinking about six wins this year. Because the bkack shirts will take awhile to be rebuilt. I think they Will be much improved by next year. Frost will move nebraska back to the top again no doubt.
I’ll just assume that your track record of being wrong will continue.

Scott Flop’s going to keep Neb down & I love it!

My track record is always being correct. Especially with nebraska. Plus i have no trouble picking the iowa vs wisc winner. Wisc in a close one this year. It will be close because of the iowa defense. The iowa offense will have trouble running the ball of course. And will struggle figuring out who to block on passing plays again. I just hope stanley does not get injured when his oline turns another wisc linebacker completely free again. Stanley seems like a nice guy. To bad he has to play with that lack luster offense that cant even get a running game going for him vs bucky. Iowa coaches need to go right away to a real quick two step drop passing game right away and hit their tight ends. But what will they do? They will come out trying to run the ball like they always do. And just throw away early scoring chances per usual..

Most of the Nebraska fans I know from western Iowa are very condescending when it comes to football, and you take that attitude and pile on what Nebraska football has been over the last several years, including the losses to Iowa and it's not a group of people that are defeated, but rather left confused and constantly shaking their heads at why the Huskers aren't winning championships like they were used to seeing prior to the turn of the century.........and no I'm not adding all that for dramatic exaggeration. That is normally how condescending people sound when they don't get their way.

Iowa fans know a little bit about this when it comes to Iowa State, in particular.

If SF tries to run that program the way that TO ran it he will fail. Too many watchdogs out there. If he runs it the Devaney ran it he will have at least a 50/50 chance of contending for winning the west 10 percent of the time

As much as some may disagree, no matter what frost will at least bring this to nebby

It seems to me it is their fan base being excited about what is going on in there program.

So what?!

Let them be and keep this UNL crap off of our board. They cannot possibly talk smack to any Hawkeye fan.

Now if those same radio folks talk down about the Iowa program, then Hawkeye nation can rightly have issues, but hopefully the coaches have bigger fish (Badgers) to fry , to worry about anything going on over there.

I believe they stream. I only tune in during drives to and from work. There is a local morning show that I think goes from 10-noon, then an afternoon one I believe goes from 3-6. If you want to hear about Nebraska FB and BB 365, you woudl like it, or at least be amused. Its ESPN when the local guys aren't on.

With the help of Brian, KF realizes Iowa has to pick up their game by being more aggressive on offense and having better recruiters, coaches on staff, leading to higher level skill position players at the RB and WR position which is taking place.

Iowa is positioning itself to compete for West titles and hopefully B1G Championships occasionally with these new hires while competing against Wisconsin and now Nebraska with Scott Frost. I think it will be a three horse race moving forward with NW and Purdue occasionally making a west run.

At the end of the day ... does it really matter what Nebraska fans, media, coaches, etc., say about Nebraska? I don't get the fascination and endless threads about Nebraska on this board. Personally, I don't want to exert mental energy on topics, people, etc., that have nothing to do with me or my life.

An annual three horse race between Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin would make the fall a lot of fun. I do think Minnesota and NW both deserve respect. But if Iowa and Nebraska can both up their game (Nebraska needs to A LOT more than Iowa right now), maybe the West can get some respect back nationally. I would love to see it.

Not every Nebraska fan buys every bit of media that is being sold to us. S&C lacked a lot of discipline and accountability at Nebraska the last 4 years. Getting that house in order is necessary to get Nebraska back to level with the programs who do that the best. We aren't opening some magic jar that has been stowed away for a decade that no other team has access to. S&C is an integral part of programs sustaining success, and we didn't have it. Adding it back in doesn't vault us over the top. It gets us back to competing with good programs again. Nothing more.

Funny thread. Pretty sure it doesn't matter where you are at the area broadcasters will have some sort of homerism. Lived in a lot of different states and this is always the case. Just need the season to start.
yes, and likewise. It's different

He may very well do that. Ii was pretty hard watching him speak at the kickoff lunch though. I mean, I know he had to say some of that BS, but it would have been really nice for one of the reporters to ask him for clarification. You know all the " Coach Osborne is the best, man I know " crap. You mean the guy who let rapists and sexual assaulters and criminals run amock in the program? Then he went into how they have to get back to growing their recruits and walk ons with their great nutrition and strength program, like back when he was a player there. Oh, so Scott are we unlocking the medicine cabinent again, as Steroid U, like back in the good old days? I mean please, don't insult us with all this garbage, like no one is around who remembers what else went on in Lincoln, "in the Glory days".
