Thoughts on Idaho WR transfer looking at Iowa?

This guy will not move the needle at Iowa. Think Herb Grigsby from days of yore. His stats from FCS pass happy Kibbie Dome Idaho are a far cry from B10 defenses and Iowa schemes. What’s Wetjen’s fatal flaw at receiver?🤷‍♂️

The portal players mentioned are 6' and 5' 10".
I would like to see us get taller WR's.
Bigger targets, with higher and longer reach.

Yeah I heard he can, but I also heard he likes to run them on 3rd and 2 not 3rd and 7, so we may have to look elsewhere.

You know you can recruit more than one position at a time, right? I'm sure they're doing both.
I agree. And I believe this may point to competencies. Tim Lester was a QB (and a good one) and a head coach. No surprise he is highly active with talent evaluation and acquisition of QBs.

Now to WRs, someone needs to help me understand if JB has the same level of competency in talent evaluation, acquisition and selling that opportunity to prospective talent. I'm just not that familiar with his "deep" experience. He must be a direct report to TL, but TL can't do everything.

The organization can recruit more than one position at a time, but not necessarily one individual in the organization. Perhaps, it's a glaring indicator of different competencies within leadership? Maybe, there are other nuances to overall acquisition? It is strange, however, how active the QB front has been relative to some other areas of need.

This might be a question that only Kirk can answer and I'm thinking Budmayr probably reports to him as he's the one that put him there.
