A whole bunch of reports, mainly coming out of Texas beat guys and now national reporters, that Houston head coach Tom Herman is close to being named the head coach at LSU.
Certainly quite a shocker for the folks in Austin, who thought he was headed there once Charlie Strong is officially fired. The folks in Austin are apparently in full meltdown mode right now. I mean, he was the guy they wanted and there's really no other obvious choice. Cue the Texas is backing up the money truck for Nick Saban rumors once again. Just seems to be from the outside that Texas is viewed as a toxic job right now.
Also, Jimbo Fisher apparently turned down LSU. They were making a run at him last year when they were about to fire Les Miles and then backed off firing him...and then fired him during this season.
With that, I will cue up the Texas takes Mack Brown back and he's putting the band back together post.
