Baylor actually acted, and disciplined/terminated enablers of despicable offenses unlike Saint Tom across the Missouri.

Christian Peter, one example:

While at Nebraska, Peter had eight run-ins with the law for various offenses such as threatening a parking attendant while his vehicle was being towed, trespassing, public urination, refusing to comply with police, minor in possession of alcohol, failure to appear in court, and allegedly grabbing a woman by the throat. He was convicted four times. [3][4]

Most infamously, he was alleged to have raped Kathy Redmond,[5] a freshman from Littleton, Colorado; two times in two days—the second with two of his teammates keeping watch. Redmond didn't report it to police until after her freshman year. Redmond's parents confronted various Nebraska coaches about it, but Peter was never charged or disciplined. This inaction led Redmond to file a Title IX suit against Nebraska in 1995; the suit was settled two years later with Nebraska paying $50,000 and the other two agreeing to pay an undisclosed sum of money. Former coach Tom Osborne has since apologized to Redmond and the two have reconciled.[3] Recently, Osborne invited Redmond to speak to the football team about violence against women.

In 1993, Peter was alleged to have sexually violated Melissa DeMuth in his dorm room, though he was never charged over the alleged incident. He was accused of groping Natalie Kuijvenhoven (a former Miss Nebraska) in a crowded bar and told her how she "loved it" in an "obscenity-laced tirade". He was convicted and sentenced to 18 months probation, and was suspended for a 1993 exhibition game.[3]

I can't speak to Tom Osborne and the incidents you cited, but I think it's a good thing that media are bringing these issues to light more. It seems like sexual misconduct among student athletes is a pervasive problem across the country and it's high time there is a cultural change with more accountability.

Lawrence Phillips (enough said); Johnny Rogers, who robbed a gas station one day & was running wild for the Huskers the next day (Osborne assistant, but basically in charge since head coach was drunk all the time).

I may not have the facts precisely right but Lawrence Phillips brutally assaulted an ex-girlfriend then dragged her down a flight of stairs steps by her hair. It was his 2nd assault charge. He had also been previously charged with vandalism and admitted to receiving money from a sports agent.

Osborne only suspended Phillips under the excuse that he "needed structure" in his life. What Osborne really needed was Phillips eligibility for a run at the championship. Sure enough, just before the Fiesta Bowl, Osborne rescinded the suspension, itself a joke to begin with, and declared Phillips sufficiently rehabilitated to suit up and play in the bowl game.

There are other examples and incidents in addition to Christian Peter and Lawrence Phillips.

Tom Osborne should always be considered among the sleeziest and most dishonest college coaches in the modern football era.

I agree. His transition to politics was easy considering his less than honest approach to coaching.

If you don't have the facts right, which you don't, then why post a bunch of bullcrap?

Some of you guys really have a h*** on for Nebraska huh?

It's actually been fairly quiet lately around here, usually there are several threads about the Nubs towards the top.

The Cornbugs are kinda like the big brother from a step sibling perspective...you'll see constant chatter and a lot of hatred reflected their way.

My fault. Lawrence Phillips dragged his girlfriend down three flights of steps, not "a flight of steps" as I previously stated. That was after he unlawfully entered the victim's apartment, pushed her into the bathroom and knocked her down.

"I wouldn't call it a beating," Coach Osborne was quoted as protesting in the Lincoln papers that week.

According to police, Phillips pulled the woman by the hair downstairs and bashed her head into a mailbox

The case against Phillips was probably a load of bullcrap. Wait...

Phillips plead no contest to trespassing and misdemeanor assault.

The GF beat down incident was Phillips' second assault charge.

In March 1994, police said Phillips grabbed a man around the neck and pulled him away during a confrontation on a Lincoln street. Misdemeanor charges were dropped after Phillips paid the man $400 for a necklace the man said was damaged.

I will concede that there are more precise facts involved in the multiple assaults that I am not aware of. There might even be mitigating facts in his favor. For example, did he ask nicely to be let in before trespassing into the victims premises? Did he pause momentarily after each flight of steps? When he grabbed that man's neck and pulled him away, did he do so gently?

I don't know. Ask Tom Osborne.

Best part I'm sure that was omitted was that the thugs gf was banging scott frost when he went psycho.

but they have so many ' academic all americans ' .. . Still last in the Big 10 even after the new additions . Nebraska had different rules than others , not sure they still do but for sure back in their glory days they did .. OH , to have an interview with some of them would be great .. Thunder Collins would be a good one
... Special classes, witnessed by my wife who went there .

hopefully they get exposed for what they are and many incidents come out ..Osborne, no way was he squeaky clean

Sorry neb fans but Iowa as well as many colleges don't come close to the cases against neb Players.
not even close

We are talking murder, attempted murder , assault and rape

Go back to gopher land and check on that stellar hoops team that little boy Petino has put together...what a joke of a program:)

Osborne won more, but Briles had to follow the same academic standards as everyone else. Both appear to be low life's and win at all costs, but the facts on Briles are still coming out. We know the lengths Osborne was willing to go to cover up for his players.

Osborne also had the luxury of coaching during a time before social media.

This thread is great. It never gets old, the Iowa fans who saw Nebraska dominate in the 90's HATE the Huskers. And I mean just hate with a passion.

Tom O makes your guys' blood boil, it's beautiful.

Another fusker emotionally incapable of doing anything but defend their religion. And yes, we hate Nebraska, your fan base has earned that honor, so what. Your gut wrenching losses last year combined with our undefeated season made for an incredibly enjoyable season last year. :)
