Tonights win vs Michigan State was....

....the 80th victory as Iowa Hawkeyes for Mike Gesell, Anthony Clemmons and Adam Woodbury. Their record as Iowa Hawkeyes now stands at 80-41, nearly 2/3rds wins. In the Big Ten their record is 34-24. Post season has seen them finish 2nd in the NIT, be invited to the NCAA twice, and one win in the NCAA Tournament (the first for Iowa in over ten years).

When these young men committed in the fall of 2011 all Iowa had done the previous four years was finish 8th, 10th, 9th and 10th in the Big Ten. Yet they took a chance on Iowa and have given their heart and guts to us for going on four years now.

As this long last season for them continues there will no doubt be wins and losses, triumphs and heartaches. There have been all of these things since they've been here.

Thanks and congrats guys for your 80th victory! What better way than to beat a top ten ranked team, and for the second time in just a couple weeks!

The time we have left, we fans will enjoy and appreciate!!!

I think about how badly we simply wanted to get back to being a 20-win team during/after the Lickliter era. It's very impressive.
