At the risk of incurring the wrath of
@torbee, the quads are very boring. Great place to live and raise a family, but boring.
Once upon a time when the Arsenal had a functioning country club, we were members. I'm not sure why else anyone would go there on purpose. Also, I'm not sure why one would visit the JD headquarters. Maybe their museum by the Mark, but that is also boring.
The most fun thing to do was Bix Fest, but then they separated it from the run and killed the vibe. I also enjoyed taking in a game at Modern Woodmen, and going for a ride on the channel cat when it was still a thing (maybe it is?). Pretty much everything to do with the river is the most interesting thing about the quads.
My list of 10 things I would do if I had a time machine would be:
- Bix Fest back when it was coupled with the race
- Dinner at Steventon's overlooking the river
- Channel cat
- play golf at the Aresneal and try not to get attacked by those f&cking red winged blackbirds
- Take in a game at Modern Woodmen
- sledding on the 23rd ave hill in Bettendorf
- Dinner at Five (long since gone)
- get my swerve on in the back of my parent's 4runner at Crow Creek Park
- Taco pizza from HJ's
- Butterfinger malt from Whitey's
