"On his relationship with Iowa coach Tom Brands: “It’s great. We’re both extremely passionate about wrestling. … We’re competitors through and through. When I was an athlete, I was a knucklehead and Tom found different ways to push my buttons. I had three seasons with Tom in college and they were great. I went undefeated as a true freshman and made the Junior World Team, and when he returned I went two-for-two with NCAA titles and I wasn’t healthy when he arrived home. So for me, Tom’s been a blessing in my life and he knows how to get the best out of me.”
