The comparison was made to point out the ineffectiveness of the policing strategy to catch dangerous criminals. It is valid from that perspective.

Plus, I am confident most people in my example have broken some law - we ALL break laws from time to time. So anytime you make this into a rule of law issue by arguing we should round up law breakers then you absolutely need to consider other law breakers. Otherwise you are just subjectively applying justice.

Net net we will have to disagree on this. I simply don't think illegally entering the country is a huge transgression and prefer more effective solutions focused on the reasons they chose that path in the first place. You want to deal with them as criminals, but not address other criminal elements of society (like our president) which I find hypocritical.

The onus needs to be put back on the governments of where these people are coming from. Stop being corrupt and actually enforce your laws, be pro business to help your homeland people become better educated, offer jobs at a wage that allows people to have a quality life with healthcare options in their country so they don’t have to come to the US illegally.
