Do you guys understand the DoE does more than just “oversight?” We were talking about the FASFA earlier. I can’t imagine navigating a state by state method of what that would look like.

The Dept. of Education is responsible for millions of dollars in low interest loans that allow low-income people to further their education. They also fund resources for states to provide support for students with disabilities. What they don't do is set ANY curriculum. The Dept. of Education isn't responsible for educating anyone. That responsibility is strictly on the states and/or LEAs.
My daughter is a student with a disability, when should I expect my DOE check?
Does your daughter attend school? Is her disability such that she received interventions in her early primary years as required by the IDEA? Does she receive accommodations through special education programs? Those are also required by the IDEA. There's your check.
You're free to pay for those services out-of-pocket, of course.
