TRUMP INDICTED

One thing is certain. This changes the political landscape forever in regards to criminally charging a former POTUS.

As we similarly learned when Harry Reid changed the landscape of judicial appointments.
For sure, all those law breaking former Presidents and then they finally charge one. Guess they will have to start behaving.

We'll see how this all plays out. I want to see the evidence and obtain more information prior to commenting on this specific case.

Speakind generally, I've posted on this board before regarding the propensity of many prosecutors to overcharge. It's a tactic that needs to be addressed.

I'm also a big advocate of investigative boards that review allegations of such. Prosecutorial misconduct is the antithesis of American ideals.
Tell us you have no clue how a grand jury works without telling us

CNN reporting 34 counts

I wonder if some of the Republican right now rushing to tweet their support of Trump just locked up on way to pressing the send button when they heard “34”
I think the word had already gone out - if you don’t support Trump and attack Bragg, we are releasing the dirt. The prostitutes, bribes, young women/men, etc etc.. it’s all going out if you don’t play ball.

Trump is fundraising off Thursday's indictment

From CNN's Brian Rokus

Former President Donald Trump is fundraising off Thursday's indictment, writing in part in an email: “The Deep State will use anything at their disposal to shut down the one political movement that puts YOU first.”
The email to donors is topped with a headline from The New York Times on Trump's indictment. Much of the email borrows some of the same language from the statement of Trump's official response to the indictment.
"We are living through the darkest chapter of American history," the email reads. "Ever since I ran for president as a complete political outsider, the corrupt ruling class has tried to shut down our America First movement."
"With your support, we will write the next great chapter of American history – and 2024 will forever go down as the year we saved our Republic. WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" the email reads.

Naw , Trump is still the King. And all of these elected officials are his lower lords. They have to keep in his favor or at least appear to. To keep their political careers alive.

Wont you help?

Can you tell me who is above the law and being held accountable for crimes they commit? What makes a former POTUS above the law that they can't be criminally charged?

This is just another opportunity in a long list of opportunities for Republicans to dump him. Yet, we're at the point where we can be almost certain that they won't, if anything they'll probably go further in.

Of course, most of the Republican politicians, and normal/decent Republican voters probably wish he was never a thing and would go away... but the reality is that Hillary was mostly right, a significant portion of his supporters are just truly deplorable and the GOP needs them.

Feels similar to feudalism. Even if the your Lord is clearly insane. You're stuck with him until he dies.
