Trump officially blames Ukraine for starting the war with Russia

But Trump isn’t a a Russian asset, right @DeangeloVickers? 🙄
There's really no point in having ridiculous discussions with people who are able to be convinced of things this absurd. At the end of the day, if you want to go around believing things like this the rest of us really shouldn't gaf. The majority know you're a nutbag.

I don’t really believe he’s a Russian asset, but I do think Trump is totally oblivious to how badly he’s being played by Putin.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine appealed to the Trump administration on Wednesday to respect the truth and avoid disinformation in discussing the war that began with a Russian invasion of his country, in his first response to President Trump’s suggestion that Ukraine had started the war.
“I would like to have more truth with the Trump team,” Mr. Zelensky told reporters in Kyiv during a broader discussion about the administration, which this week opened peace talks with Russia that excluded Ukraine. Mr. Zelensky said that the U.S. president was “living in a disinformation space” and in a “circle of disinformation.”
The remarks, delivered from his presidential office in Kyiv, a building still fortified with sandbags to avoid blasts from Russian missiles, were some of the most pointed yet about Mr. Trump and his views on the war.

Mr. Zelensky had until this week walked a fine line of staking out Ukrainian positions while avoiding any suggestion of an open breach with the United States, Ukraine’s most important ally in the now nearly three-year-old war. After the initial cease-fire talks between Russia and the United States, Mr. Zelensky on Tuesday had starkly laid out his refusal to accept terms negotiated without Ukrainian participation.

Which is a rational opinion and while we disagree on most things, it's easy to respect posts like these.

If he is currying favor from Putin for Trump properties in Moscow, or oligarch money pushing him towards a Russia-friendly policy over our own interests, why don't you geniuses tell us how different that is?

People, forget about this. Trump does so many outrageous things somehow we forget he attempted to extort political favors from an ally by withholding Congressionally approved military aid unless they did him a political favor. An ally that was later invaded by Russia.

That should have ended Trump. And it is inexcusable that the GOP protected him.

So now Trump is going to destroy Ukraine, to destroy Zelensky. Did you see he claimed Zalensky had an approval rating of 5%? That’s the kind of lie that would end people’s career, but it’s not even a nip in the radar.
That might be the biggest takeaway. Trump wants Ukraine to reinstate the election. That's going to be part of the peace agreement. This will allow for Russian influence and electing a Russian puppet.

Again, Pelosi told Don, TO HIS FACE, all roads from you lead to Putin. I don't know if you're right or if he's owned by Vlad but he clearly makes decisions that Putin wants him to make.

Lying has become a political attribute for the GOP.

A resume' builder, some say.

What is you definition of "asset"? After reading your responses, I have difficulty knowing from context alone.

He's also fixing to pull the US out of NATO too.
For sure he is...just like Putin wants him to.

A few years ago our board Republicans were telling us about how Romney was right about Russia being our biggest threat, and Obama was wrong.

A decade later and Russia is our friend...because Trump. Incredible that so many people in our country fell for this guy who is clearly helping a country who has been the enemy the vast majority of my lifetime.

Trump calls President Zelensky a "dictator" this morning on Truth Social. :(

I'm not the one claiming Trump is a Russian asset, let's get the nutjobs to tell us.
They'll either backtrack, double down, or more likely dodge the question bc deep down they know how ridiculous it is.

I was just asking you what a foreign asset is in your mind. I was always under the impression that it just means useful, but it seems to mean something different to you. I'm honestly curious.

Cute but not nearly what the left has been implying nor what those posting in the thread have said. 2 and 3 are more applicable, whether they'll admit it or not.
asset/ăs′ĕt″/

noun

  1. A useful or valuable quality, person, or thing; an advantage or resource.
"proved herself an asset to the company."
  2. A valuable item that is owned.
  3. A spy working in his or her own country and controlled by the enemy.

The implication from the start of all of the Russia Trump asset stuff has been that he's under Putins control bc Putin has leverage on him. There's absolutely no denying that. It's never been about useful and always about being compromised and owned.

From another active thread currently - Do you suppose these 28 people (majority so far) think "Russian agent" simply means "useful"? Of course not... I rest my case.

Wouldn't it be easier to try to move beyond implications and ask clarifying questions to find a better understanding?

An example would be, in this instance what is your definition of asset?

"Why would I defend Trump?"

Goes on to defend Trump.
It's crazy how Bonespurs kowtows to Putin. Every other country in the world must be laughing at and disgusted with lapdog donnie. Everybody can see the hold putin has over Bonespurs. Well... anyone not acting as a lemming in a cult... that is too embarrassed at this point to admit the truth. So sad.
