Trump pauses all military aid to Ukraine,...

Never thought I’d see the day when Russia and North Korea are our allies. We are no longer a super power.
The new Axis.

Even if it is "more tax cuts for the top", why do you think it's ok to take their money to fund another nation's war?
The tax cuts are fueled by deficit spending. So not sure if it’s there money anymore.
As for that war. It’s about keeping economic activity open. In the long run. Russia will grab more and more markets by force. Taking them off the table to trade with. It was a huge economic expansion when Eastern Europe was removed from Russian domination. Things have the possibility of contracting now.
Now from a moral standpoint Russia doesn’t want peace. They want to reload. They are brutal to conquered lands. Absolute slaughtering of civilians and kidnapping of children all in an effort to break people. Do you really think a solution brokered between Trump and Putin solves anything.

Trump cares way more about what Putin thinks of him than what Zelesnkyy thinks of him.
He doesn't care what Zelenskyy thinks about him. He gets his rocks off by belittling and demeaning the man on the world's stage. It's important to Trump as he's seeking revenge for that first impeachment and sees Zelenskyy and Ukraine as central to that event. He's also a thorn in Trump's plans to do business with Vlad.

From what I understand, the U.S. "deal" took minerals from Ukraine and guaranteed little or nothing in return. It was considered repayment for previous U.S. financial and military aid. No security guarantees. No guarantees of future funding. Nothing.
Understood, can't disclose that yet.

And Ukraine not giving up all its occupied land to Russia and minerals to us with no NATO or firm treaty protections will pretty much be the justification Trump uses to end sanctions on Russia, and probably sell them weapons or give them military aid.

"Withdrawal" from NATO (Trump can't officially do it on his own, but practically speaking will make it a fact) and withdrawal of all troops from Europe are also a done deal at this point.

I consider myself to be a Reagan Republican. There is no principled way to support or justify Trump's position here. I hope that this is just Trump being an attention whore, and he eventually returns to Ukraine after Zelenskyy says that he is "sorry". But if the U.S. turns its back on Ukraine and supports Russia, that is different than America-first isolationism. That would be a betrayal of everything that the U.S. has stood for internationally since 1941.

Democracy is qualitatively different than tyranny. One should be supported, the other should be opposed.

Because we stand against criminal aggression?

What did you think of our stand against with the criminal aggression of the Saudi monarchy in Yemen?

Obama didn't even try to put he 'rules based international order' lipstick on that pig, although he did embarrass himself congratulating their tyrant (hand picked by the monarchs on the Gulf Cooperation Council) for winning a single candidate election as a success for 'democracy'.

That shit was shameful, but the press did a pretty good job of ignoring it.
