In regards to his security. According to the FBI there are credible threats against his life by the Iranians...

Add to that the attempt in Pennsylvania and this one.

At the risk of "blaming the victim", what are Trumps responsibilities here?

Providing security at a golf course that probably covers around 180 acres is a heavy task for a "high value" target. Apparently this guy was hiding in the brush on the perimeter. Providing adequate security is a heavy lift manpower wise....maybe he shouldn't be golfing in this environment?

Just a thought. Discuss :)

It's been well reported that Trump refuses to take the advice of the Secret Service about public appearances. He wants open air rallies for a variety of reasons, and he refuses to limit his appearances at his golf courses. It isn't just the golfing, it's the hanging around the clubhouse and wandering the dining room at Mar A Lardo. He could limit his golfing to private clubs, or he could easily get into courses on US military bases as other presidents did/do.
As I posted in another thread, Trump insists upon wearing a bright red MAGA hat and a white shirt while on the golf course because he thinks it creates buzz. Everyone can see he's on the course. It also makes him a target. He will not allow anyone else to wear a white shirt and red hat in his golfing party.

Trump made fun of Paul Pelosi, Giffords, and Gretchen Whitmer after their attacks. He cheered on fights at his rallies, said we just need to get over Iowa kids shot and killed, and lead a murderous coup. And has been pointed out, he refuses to listen to the advice of his security detail. He absolutely bears responsibility. His entire campaign is built on hatred and responding with violence when things don't go his way.

Conversely, you have a party that says democracy will end if he's elected.

Fun times.

The DNC has ****ed your brain.

Of course, it is true that his words and actions have shown he will not accept the result of any election in which he doesn’t win, and he supports those people who tried to mount a violent insurrection to overturn the last election. Not to mention withholding military aid for an ally unless that ally followed his directions designed to harm his political opponent.

So, yeah, when we say he is a threat to democracy we are stating a objective and observable fact, with the recommendation being that we do everything we can to defeat him in the voting booth and implore Congress to uphold our laws and the results of our elections.

But, sure, both sides.

It appears you’ve angered yOuR SidE binsy.

Just a reminder of my HORT PSA, you can delete a thread you’ve started at any time if - for example - you need to save face with your bros.
Thanks for the advice. I don't have an aversion to pissing people off though.

Thanks for validating my post Art...it's appreciated.

If the protectee will not take the advice of the protectors than this sort of stuff is bound to happen.

Doesn't necessarily make it his fault but you have to live in the real world and protect yourself. That's why we lock our doors. In running for president he's chosen something that makes him more of a target. Because of this he should listen to the advice of the professionals who's job it is to protect him.

Not without reason. I prefer “threat to democratic order” instead of the term “ end of democracy” others have used.

Since his defeat (which he has steadfastly refused to accept) Trump has, on more than one occasion, argued that executive “termination of the Constitution” is justified. On other occasions, he has said “suspension” of the US Constitution is warranted.

In the history of America, no candidate for president has ever argued for a president’s right to unilaterally suspend or terminate constitutional rights.

Al of the above would normally be irresponsible and reckless bluster from an egomaniacal wannabe dictator. HOWEVER, the Supreme Court has now ruled that US presidents have absolute immunity from prosecution for official acts. The stakes are much, much higher now.

But Kamala laughs and doesn't have kids, so...

As a candidate, nope.
In office, it's now old hat:

On September 14th, 2001, President George W. Bush signed Proclamation 7463 declaring a “National Emergency by Reason of Certain Terrorist Attacks.” The measure activates over 400 additional provisions of executive authority and has been re-signed every year by every succeeding president, including four times by Donald Trump. As discussed on the new America This Week, Joe Biden just signed its latest renewal, effective tomorrow, noting the threat of twenty-three years ago “continues”:

What's a suitable gif for BoTH sIdES tanking his own thread?

The National Emergencies Act, passed by Congress, has been federal law for almost 50 years. The Act was created according to democratic process, approved by both the US House and US Senate

Trump is suggesting executive action which terminates or suspends - his words - the US Constitution, bypassing the legislative process.

There you go again. Taking Trump literally. He was joking. And, what choice does BOtH SidES BiNs have? Harris is completely unqualified.

I see multiple posters have already responded to this. I'll just say this is another prime example of why nobody takes you seriously on here. Jesus ****ing christ, man.
The comment has bunched the panties of the usual suspects.

You're confusing "bunched the panties" with "calling out your dumb nonsense."

If I went into an NBA thread and said Scottie Pippen was a better all around player than Michael Jordan and people started correcting me, I didn't "bunch up their panties." I said something insanely stupid and got corrected.

Do you think the national emergency declared in 2001 will ever not be renewed in your lifetime?

After he loses the election and flees to Venezuela to escape prosecution for his stolen classified documents & election interference crimes, I'd say that instead of wasting the money on extradition, we just give the Iranian assassins some key intel tips...

Let God/Allah figure it out...

Its time to save the govt money and pull the protection from Crazy Filthy Don, if the old worthless prick, wants to golf then he can hire his own protection clan . jmo.
