From the Florida board.... "Why in the world would he want to go to Iowa?" "I hope he waits until the season starts to see how good both teams are, I think that would definitely favor Florida." Am I mistaken or wasn't Florida a mid level SEC team last year, and trending down? Florida had a poor season, but on the heels of three straight elite eight appearances and a final four. So I am not sure Iowa compares favorably as a program... Not over the last two decades.
The elephant in the room, of course, is the loss of Donovan. But I don't think that would have made a difference with Cook. This was all about being closer to home.
This was a great get for the Hawks.
