Hard to say, he really hasn't played much at all yet, but he does have a strong arm and seems to be an accurate thrower.I hope it doesn't come to this, but if it does. Can Iowa win with Wiegers leading the offense?

I'd lean toward the QB not being the biggest factor in this particular game.
Was Rudock the "biggest factor" in MI hammering NW?That would be an extreme rarity in modern football.
I really don't see how that would even be possible.

Without injury he will never start for us. When Beathard graduates Boyle will step in.

I don't disagree with any of that. I just thought that the idea that it is "rare in modern football" to the point it wouldn't "even be possible" to win a game without the QB being the "biggest factor" was interesting - when the MI/NU game is evidence to the contrary...as you described. That's assuming our defense dominates NW and we run for 200 yards against a pretty solid defense. At some point, just like last week, we are going to need our QB to make plays. Ruddock last week wasn't the "biggest" factor but he was an efficient 17/23 for 179 passing yards and 0 turnovers.
With a beat up offensive line, I think we are going to make some plays in the passing game to win this. Their run defense is much better than they showed last week. They held Stanford to 6 points, Duke to 10 and shut Minnesota out. It will be difficult to come up with >20 points this weekend without a good passing attack.
