At what moment did the cops realize that they were going to be on the nightly news?
I would guess the people siding with the cops are white and probably live in a small town or rural area and are MAGAts. I could be wrong though, some of them may live in bigger towns or cities.I am amazed, though I guess I should know better by now, at how many people are taking the motorcycle cops side. These guys were absolutely terrible with how they conducted themselves and abused their power, both verbally and physically. Just because Hill might be not a great person himself or has the audacity to roll up his widow after giving his license does not excuse it. And then they compounded it with how they handled other players trying to diffuse situation. Had they not realized at some point they were dealing with star NFL Dolphin players going to the game they were working they would have taken him to jail for zero reason on BS charges. Their behavior is simply indefensible. We should not live in a country where this is normalized if a citizen is not immediately compliant and confused at a traffic stop by literally a gang on motorcycles.
And he was terrified about his knee. That was not an act. His whole livelyhood was at stake.
Truly amazing a huge swath of you loons can side with the cops on this after that body cam came out. At least they did not “accidentally” have them off.
I still maintain at least one of them will be looking for another job soon. The community is majorly united in their pissed offness .

I'm a democrat living in Chicago and I know the importance of listening to the police and following what they say. Police brutality is a problem in the U.S. but I don't see it for this situation. When the driver closed his window, and the window is tinted, how does the cop know what the driver is really doing. In Chicago that guy would probably have been shot, so he should consider himself lucky, or they would have shattered the window. Even the other car that pulled over wasn't listening to the cop. We all have to follow the rules, and if some people decide they're too good for the rules, then they get what they deserve. The video I saw just showed why we have cops that go too far, because there are idiots who won't follow the rules.I would guess the people siding with the cops are white and probably live in a small town or rural area and are MAGAts. Or... and call me crazy here. Those people could have common sense and know that if Hill would have just cooperated, got his ticket for breaking the law like everyone else that doesn't follow it and moved along nothing would have happened instead of being a complete douche and acting like he's to entitled to follow the law or cooperate.I would guess the people siding with the cops are white and probably live in a small town or rural area and are MAGAts. Have you ever been a cop and had to deal with low life's and morons 10 hours a day? I'm sure one gets a little testy after a while. If you just act respectful and patient, all will be fine. The minute you act as if you are too good to be stopped and get belligerent, as Cris Rock says, you are askin' for an a$$ kickin'.Cop had his ID. They went on a power trip plain and simple. Police escalated vs de-escalating it. Yes he rolled his window up, but he did roll it down again but at that point another officer not even involved in the conversation jumps in and rips him out of the car after saying he was going to break the window. Really, they had several officers in the scene and had his ID. All they had to do was write his citation and send him on his way. Instead they did all of this and threatened others who stopped.

Idk why Hill decided to raise the window again, from the video they showed, it started just after and I couldn’t hear him well at first. Maybe he’s done that before and cop didn’t care, who knows, and it’s ultimately irrelevant now. Once the cop told him to lower the window again, he should have done so immediately and stopped talking.I'm a democrat living in Chicago and I know the importance of listening to the police and following what they say. You had me until the second paragraph. They asked him to open the window, which he didn't, they asked him to get out of the car, and he didn't, the driver escalated the situation with his actions and he should own that.Idk why Hill decided to raise the window again, from the video they showed, it started just after and I couldn’t hear him well at first. At the same time…I saw absolutely nothing that warranted pulling him forcibly from the car, taking him to the ground and cuffing him. Those cops escalated a situation that didn’t need to be.
He didn’t as quickly as they wanted him to. And frankly, it’s a traffic stop. They didn’t suspect he was drunk, didn’t think he had drugs, etc. there was zero need for them to make him get out of the car and then take him to the ground and handcuff him.You had me until the second paragraph. That is not a very logical car for a father of 10 to have
Once he was ignoring their very reasonable request to roll down the window, and they had to be worried about him driving off in his sports car or possibly pulling a gun, they had every right to secure the scene. He didn’t as quickly as they wanted him to. And frankly, it’s a traffic stop. Now that the left has open season on cops, who in their right mind just rolls up on a stop of any kind, jumps out and starts running their mouth.....unless they want two in the chest?Once he was ignoring their very reasonable request to roll down the window, and they had to be worried about him driving off in his sports car or possibly pulling a gun, they had every right to secure the scene.
You really have no idea what they were seeing and thinking. If he's not willing to follow rules then he's a risk take it to the next level. Had he taken off in his car, there would have been a high speed case that would have endangered the public. He didn’t as quickly as they wanted him to. And frankly, it’s a traffic stop. Well, he did initially roll down the window. For whatever reason, he rolled it back up after the initial conversation with the cop, and he did roll down the window again eventually.Once he was ignoring their very reasonable request to roll down the window, and they had to be worried about him driving off in his sports car or possibly pulling a gun, they had every right to secure the scene.
Look, he's a douche. I don't think that's a secret. However, police deal with this and are trained to deal with this. Even kind people can get upset at police when getting a ticket... it happens. So, when police rip a guy out of his car after he's already stopped, given his ID and who's waiting on a ticket is an escalation and excessive to say the least. Police should have gone back to the cycle and come back with a nice big ticket or two. That should have been it. There is no law that requires anyone to roll a window down... only that you have to identify yourself which he did. And, he did put the window down again when the other guy not even involved interjected to kick some ass. If an officer cannot control their emotions in this situation I do not want them with a gun in a really tense and serious situation.lol. But nothing regarding the complete douche baggery from tyreke? Unreal.

Then you have no business being a cop.Have you ever been a cop and had to deal with low life's and morons 10 hours a day? I'm sure one gets a little testy after a while. Not painting Hill as a saint here, but cmon. To say the cops escalated a situation above and beyond what was needed doesn’t seem like a massive leap here.
If Hill drove off, so what? They had his license, ID at that point. Tracking him down again wasn’t going to be a challenge. At no point did the cops in that video say or act as tho they thought he was armed.
HE ALREADY GAVE HIS ID. He cooperated. All the officer had to do was write a ticket. If you were the cop would you be concerned with not being able to see inside the car as the driver was being uncooperative? Would you have any safety concerns with that being the case?
But he had initially seen inside the car. Hill - wrongly, decided for some reason to raise the window after he was done with the initial conversation. In that video, the cops didn’t seem to be concerned about a possible danger, they just seemed pissed that a civilian wasn’t doing exactly what they said.If you were the cop would you be concerned with not being able to see inside the car as the driver was being uncooperative? Cops did “ Nothing “ Wrong” !!!!!Again, had he listened and not rolled up the window, nothing would have happened. Brought it on himself. Cops deal with punks all day. Don’t listen, it’s kissing the pavement time. Cops did nothing wrong,

Cops need a greater justification than raising a car window or not getting out as quickly as they want him to before deciding to resort to use of force.
They were being very belligerent in that video, imo, greatly out of proportion to a guy who raised his window back up when he shouldn’t have.
It’s Tyrek Hill on his way to the stadium for the game. Cops are there for traffic control due to the game. Hill was wrong for speeding, cops wrong for escalating to what it did. Hill put up window to avoid being filmed due to the stop. Cops had his ID, know him, and why he is there. It’s not hard. Write the ticket and let him go to the stadium to prep for the game. They got their pound of flesh with the ticket and a hefty fine for him going upwards of 100 mph.
I’m not saying you feel this way, but this kind of response implies that Hill got this ball rolling (I agree with that) and that because Hill “started it”, whatever else comes comes, almost no matter what it is. That’s where I differ. Had Hill acted differently, this would have gone very differently, but him being a dick doesn’t justify bad police work.Had he followed what the cops said he would have been fine. He chose not to and that's on him. If he's so concerned for his knee then he should have been listening to the cops. People are only pissed because it was a football player (who doesn't give a shit about the community), had it been someone else, people wouldn't care. Mess with bull and you get the horns.
