U.S. consumer inflation increases at fastest pace in nearly 1.5 years in January 2025

The great majority of the Covid crisis and its impact on economic activity occurred during Trump's first term in office...Biden inherited an improving economy

No, he did not.

He inherited an utter mess of supply chain issues that nearly every major economist claimed would lead to a major recession.

Cut the bullshit on tax breaks to millionaires...most tax paying Americans received a tax cut in Trump's first term....this millionaire paid more in taxes under Trump's tax plan and didn't mind it one bit because it reduced some inherently unfair deductions like SALT, etc....

Baloney! Covid kicked in hard starting in January of 2020… the economy Biden inherited was skunk-bottom rotten.

This is how the Dems can win in 26 and 28. Not silly chants at staged protests, not getting distracted by the (gross) trans hate, not articles of impeachment, not out of touch olds.

Go on Rogan and talk about the failed promises. Talk about pocketbooks. Talk about the price of, well … everything.
You mean all the stuff they couldn't run on in 2024.

Yes he said he would fix it on day 1 or was that a lie.
it's a lie, but very few people took him that seriously. Most politicians make day 1 promises, or first 100 day promises etc. The guy has signed a crap ton of EO's and has his people in place now. The results are either going to come in good or come in bad, and the average joe who voted for Trump is placing their faith in Trump, that his methods will deliver good results.

But you don't fix a broken economy, inflation, etc in 1 day. Though it seems he has had some good results at the border. Proving it is a will issue nothing more. Joe Biden didn't have the will to fix the issue at the border and between his failure on the border and the constant lies we were fed about his mental state, and just about every other time he or someone in his administration opened their mouth is why Harris had no chance.

Trump's been President for 9 days in that CPI reporting period....big fvcking deal....

You know another year where the inflation rate grew rapidly? 2020. Do you know when republicans started freaking out about inflation? Right after 1/20/2021. Biden was President for a few days before you guys started crowing about gas prices and grocery prices.

Trump owns the economy now. I love how you guys made "grocery prices" the only metric of the economy that matters. "Ya'll can't tell me the economy is good when grocery prices are high". Brilliant. Grocery prices are high and rising. Therefore, the Trump economy sucks.

You guys should realize that all of the bold predictions coming from the Trump/RFK/Musk camp need to come true or you guys have essentially failed. Bottom line reduction off of the cost of government, grocery and gas prices reduced, world peace, end all illegal immigration, ban chemtrails (RFK Jr lol), fix/reduce chronic disease, reduce obesity rates.

All of the bragging about how much DOGE has saved needs to be realized in bottom line reductions. i.e. if you "save" us 2 trillion, we should see a 2 trillion reduction off of government spend

All the stuff the GOP won’t be able to run on in 26 and 28 because the policies failed.

Dems need to learn their lesson here. Put forward approachable candidates with policies swing voters care about and ammo on how Trump and team screwed it all up.

That should be the game plan, which means it probably won’t be.

Trump didn't have a supply chain disaster caused by a virus.
Biden got inflation pinned down to nearly the target, against what most economists thought was possible.

Instead of building on that, Trump is reversing it.
And why did we have a supply chain disaster? Biden shutting down the economy, disastrous energy policy that spiked fuel prices, paying people to not work, and provoking Russia into a proxy war in Ukraine. Trump didn't have a supply chain disaster because he didn't cause one.

What specifically is "having some good results" mean? Looks like the deportations are down about a 3rd and Trump is unhappy with the rate, so much so that he has already reassigned the Acting Director?

I would say a LOT of people took hiom seriously and thats why they voted for him.

The policies have to fail first, and even if that appears on the horizon, we aren't there yet. But yes, if they fail "it's the economy stupid" will be on the ballot in 2026 and 2028.

No itg didn’t……not as much as Trumps tax cut and his inaction in dealing with Covid….
You guys tried to fight EVERY action Trump wanted to take. Closing the border was xenophobic and racist... and if we gave you guys your way, we might still be shut down as there's still some active cases in the country.

I'd give any president a pass on how they handle a once in a lifetime pandemic/bio weapon.

I can't speak for anyone else, and I didn't vote for him. But you have to listen to Trump and decipher his code and not take every syllable as gospel.

When he says Day 1, I think he meant he would address the issues the best way he knows how through EO's until congress can pass legislation (if they do). He kept that promise, he's been very active, now will it pay off? Will we see positive results? I've heard border contacts are down something like 95%. That's winning. The number will never be 0.

I would to…if he admitted it was not handled well. But phuque Trump and his followers…. His (in)actions and his health policies during Covid lead directly to inflationary pressures that America has experienced the past 2years. That would certainly include his income tax cuts, his (and Biden’s) $$ giveaways and his lack of post-COVID economic preparedness.

You are probably more in tune with that stuff than I am. The Florida economy handled covid pretty well, and when we tried to re-open like the beaches RDS caught major hell, but Florida is still standing if not thriving. We probably could have recovered from the pandemic faster economically, but certain states stayed shut down longer than others and that had some impact on the macro level too.

Trump was sworn in on Jan. 20. Did you expect him to flip a light switch to turn off inflation?
Why yes, of course. That's what he said he would do.

Instead it appears he is doing everything possible to undermine the economy's long recovery from the C-19 caused inflationary pressure. In fact he's reversing it now as though high inflation is his ultimate goal. WTF is he doing?

What's he or Congress done to combat domestic inflation specifically?

You mean like his infrastructure plan? Oh, wait. He didn't have one. Maybe his healthcare plan replacement? Nope - he didn't have that either. The "wall" that Mexico was going to pay for? His own party didn't support that so he had to steal $5B from Defense. His tax cuts for the rich and corporations? You got 'em on that one. They did fight that. Rightfully so.

It's funny watching you try to slowly remove your lips from Trump's ass.

This is how I've felt the last 4 years on all the tranny garbage. So I can relate to your feelings here. See I can spew my bullshit and be empathic to yours.

You've felt like you Trump supporters have made excuses for all the nonsense he's thrown out on the transsexual issues?

Not sure that's "empathic" but then again I'm not sure what "empathic" is.

sorry for those with half a brain cell, I meant to type empathetic, it's unfortunate you couldn't discern that on your own, but I understand sometimes reading is hard, and typing I guess is harder.

Lol - yes, I highlighted your dumb mistake. That seems to have damaged your fragile ego.

I also highlighted the rest of the nonsense you posted. Wonder why you ignored that?

Well they didn’t in 2018,2019 and 2020.
What changed?
It takes a year for the impact of tax stimulus to start reaching the economy and it accumulates from there.

And seriously? You can't think of any other factors that came together with this stimulus to create the inflationary timeframe we had?

I guess that shouldn't surprise me.
