Ukraine

Hey, we have a guy who would rather throw money to another country instead of helping out struggling Americans.

Coming from the party that got us in to Iraq and Afghanistan and called anyone opposed un-American. That little adventure is going to cost us over 6 trillion and cost us thousands of American lives.

Meanwhile, those same people bitch about kneecapping one of our largest geopolitical foes for a fraction of our military budget, with no Americans dead, because "we need to help struggling Americans (which they won't actually do)"/"corruption." Rings a bit... hollow.

How about no more money for most countries? I know it will mean shock for a lot of Swiss bank accounts but them’s the breaks.
I used to have a lot of sympathy for this but the older I get the more it becomes obvious to me that there are people and nations who only want to enslave other countries and people. It seems to be in our own self interest to help other countries or else China and Russia will help them and we will be without any allies.

Sad but true

Amen brother. So true.

Yep...and everyday Americans would see almost nothing from the dollars saved sent overseas. I would love to have socialized healthcare and it is something America could do, but their are too many people with a lot of money at stake - insurance companies and big pharma, are spending a lot of money to keep it from happening.

I’m inclined to take “facts” from someone whose butt is in the line of fire vs those who are thousands of miles away, but most of all it’s helpful to remember we’re all entitled to our opinions.
Correct, and not differing facts.

Your time is over, your ilk is done phucking this country up, you should probably take a seat with the rest of your leftist friends and STFU. America First.
It is in America's best interest to support Ukraine and have them repel Russia. USA has taken over Europe's natural gas supply since the Russian invasion. NATO has never been more aligned; we are stronger with allies. Much cheaper to fight Russian expansion now than when they go further. We have sold old equipment and upgraded our own arsenals. Why you people can't understand support for Ukraine is actually America First is beyond me.

Haha. You realize Iraq and Afghanistan did something to the US. You know where a crap ton of Americans died when they hijacked some planes and flew into the twin towers.
But I’m sure Ukraine helped us out financially with that war.

Absolutely

War is going on strong. People dying every day. Russian assholes bombing Residencial areas and hospitals. I literally watched Russia missiles fly over my head and hit not far from me. So go ahead and think you know better sitting in your mother's basement.

So what do you think happens if Russia wins?

Sorry, people don't believe a medic actually living this out in Ukraine. I have to wait for better sources that I want to hear.

Keep up the good work.

That made no sense at all. Russia is never getting back the European markets. Trump tried to prevent Germany from buying Russian gas the first time around. Originally, we did sell old equipment and munitions from our arsenal. We stopped doing that about 18 months ago. We are now depleting our own stock-piles and sending them state of the art equipment. In fact, our military leaders have warned, although it was not well received by the Biden administration, that we were facing critical shortages of munitions and lacking the industrial capacity to make it up quickly. Russia wants the war to end, needs the war to end as well as the Ukranians. It is time for the Trump Administration to negotiate a settlement back to the 2014 borders.

This is the best you have. Weak sauce. You proved nothing. Besides your cult leader called... It's time to drink the kool-aid.
You're an ignoramus.

I didn't vote for Trump; why would I? We have a uniparty. If it was a good uniparty there'd be no need to vote, and with this shitty one it does no good. Cult leader? FO.

Meanwhile, the cokehead running Ukraine has time to travel all over the world begging for money, has entertained countless political and Hollywood VIP's at his palace, suspended 'his' citizen's civil rights, laundered more than $200 billion of American taxpayer money and recently offered to send 150 of his finest fighting men over to put out our wildfires.

You're obviously better at charity work than you are at evaluating politics.

Definitely worth 6+ trillion. Just had to be done. Serious long term threats to America there.

Handicapping top geopolitical foes? Gosh, just can't find the cash for that.

And wasn’t that like 20 years ago? Not even sure why it matters. Is that because it was the last major war to involve the US.
Just need to justify sending money to another country for a war that doesn’t include us.

Reminds me of the 'Affordable' Care Act.

People who put their trust in government will always come away empty.
Oh, I don’t trust Trump. I got tired of seeing the shirts and signs after his disastrous first term that said ‘promises made, promises kept’. He’s a habitual liar and narcissist. And a promise breaker.

Why does it matter? Because the GOP was happy to call anyone who questioned those wars un-American and didn't bat an eye at how much we were spending on them (while we cut taxes). Yet they bitch about a insignificant fraction of that spending used on a country that actually threatens our existence.

Why? Because Ukraine didn't bow down to dear leader when he asked them to make dirt up on Joe Biden in an election year, leading to his first impeachment. Didn't even need to be real, just say it and Trump and team would handle it from there. It has absolutely nothing to do with spending or "help Americans first" and everything to do with not bending a knee.

Well, the main difference was that we had American troops there. You don't criticize the war effort when troops are fighting. One of the lessons of Vietnam that the left apparently didn't learn is that you don't spit on and criticize the soldiers.

We have no skin in the game in the Ukraine. It is not our war! Those who pay attention know that since Gorbachev the Russians have warned about the expansion of NATO. I am not excusing the Russian invasion. Going to the brink of WW3 ain't smart when it is not American troops, fighting or American soil. The Ukraine is not in our national interest.

Democracy?

Another article from a couple of MAGATS (e.g. Putin fanboys). Maybe if your boy wasn't invading and destroying their country resulting in the deaths of thousands of innocents and forcing marshal law things would look different.

WW1 and WW2 were not our wars until they were. The lesson learned there was the need to contain the enemy at start before it got out of control.

I don't believe Iraq had anything to do with 9/11, and none of the hijackers were from Iraq.

Neocon logic was:
AQ attacked us on 9/11 because of our troops in SA.
Our troops are in Saudi Arabia to defend it from Saddam Hussein.
If we take out Saddam Hussein we can remove our forces from Saudi Arabia.
If we take out Saddam Hussein we can build a democracy in Iraq that will be a model to the muslim world in the Middle East.

That last part, the nation building part, was built on a the same interventionist fantasy we've seen play out again and again.

Is there anything to like?

Government mandate, a giant step towards socialized medicine, did everything BUT make healthcare affordable, another instance of 'conservative' republicans caving to dems, etc., etc., etc.
Do you believe that if you are uninsured and need medical attention that someone else should pay for it?
