especially in today's environment. it used to be fights were settled with words and fists. Now, they seem to get settled with weapons (guns, knives, etc).

Not sure when that was. In my dad's day (mid to late 1950s) things were settled with clubs, knives and chains. Granted, the E side and S side of DSM might have been different than other places.

And they weren't much different in my day (in the 80s).
