Umm, this sucks...

Glad you came to that realization. I hope you also realize that it is time for you to go away then.
I have made a limited amount of posts on this board and in them I have shown great respect for Iowa wrestling and its history, calling it the gold standard. If that is not enough to stay I will indeed move on and let you wallow in your self pity.

Get these smucks off of our board.
Of course we have the internet now if all of this access was prevalent in the 70s 80s and 90s I am sure other teams would have felt the same way. Plenty of crowing would have been going on the too. Listen these things come in cycles.

This is bad for the sport. Stacking all the best can't miss recruits on one team is by no means good for the sport. It does not help smaller teams in succeeding or keeping their program. It does not help grow the sport. Taking the guys who would win on any team for championships does not make you the best coaches. Id never say PSU doesnt have great coaches because they defintetly do. But its far more difficult to take some guy you never of heard great than someone who is a top 5 overall recruit.

People will compare them to the Patriots or Alabama. But it's not the same thing. Those are team sports. If one person doesnt do their part you will not execute the play or game plan. The Patriots take guys you never heard of great. In wrestling it's you vs another person. There is no other person your counting on but yourself. Im a PA supporter and root for anything Pa. But it's definitely not good for the sport.

Hopefully we get the story about where it went wrong.

We won't, but I'm sure TnT were shocked when they got the news.

Well this is a big blow, we absolutely need guys like sasso now
sick of hearing about his potential character problems, we need wrestlers that can compete with the all star team up there.

It is unfortunate that you need to resort to baseless accusations. Was Iowa cheating when they dominated the sport all those years? Penn State is the top dog right now and dominant teams attract dominant wrestlers. Winning is fun. Testing yourself in practice against other superior wrestlers is fun. I've respected Iowa wrestling for 30 years but these absurd accusations by some Iowa fans are regrettable.

Teasdale would have had all the "tests" he wanted at Iowa...that's just stupid. Also, one of the things he cited about Iowa was the family atmosphere and the fun they had.
They come to psu, see they can get great grades in hard majors with the #1 alumni network in America...
Lol at this PSU brochure tripe. There is literally no distinction between Iowa and PSU as schools. None.

That's just not true. PSU grads rank #1 among Fortune 500 companies of what grads they most want to hire. It's the largest alumni association in the world and is ranked as the best. It has the largest career fair of any school east of Texas, and is ranked higher than Iowa by every major publication. Iowa is a fine school but let's not act like they're equal.

I didn't go to either school, so I have no dog in this fight, but trust me when I say the differences between perceptions of the two schools are minimal if that.

If all these insults against PSU piss you off....THEN GET OFF THIS BOARD !! who wants to hear your petty crap about how you INVENTED wrestling since Cael made it fun?? State is on a roll and lots of young immature kids want to be part of that momentum....but eventually like everything else someone will figure out that with all of this success will come problems. ...paying for all these kids to wrestle will be a headache and if they get TOO CREATIVE the pinheads at the NCAA will figure something out or catch up with a way to get more money out of the sport...or simply the wrestlers will find they are not a big fish in a small ocean anymore...and some of these kids that switch commitments will always be looking for the glory. good luck and get after it but dont come here and gloat...most likely you have never stepped on the mat like most of the chumps i encounter at PSU matches...where were you all when Troy was the coach or Before that??... winning opens up a lot of seats on the band wagon fellas.

Young and immature? Thomas Gilman just left your program as a senior being mocked till the end for being classless. Come on

No one is being a schmuck. No one is rubbing it in anyone's face.

Iowa wrestling fans just got nut punched and before they can even get up off the ground, Penn State fans are over here getting defensive about gut reactions by Iowa fans. Whatever the conspiracy theories, responding to at this time is trolling and really isn't needed.

he doesn't need to sit - was a verbal commitment. Gable said it best on Friday night - "I don't know if wrestling is fun....." um sorry coach but your philosophy and "Brand" is outdated. There's a new sheriff in town and has proven you can train like animals AND have fun along the way. There are still elite "Iowa-Style" kids but fewer and you now have competition from all over the country.

He finished the quote with winning is fun dip stick.

125/133- Suriano/Teasdale
141- RBY
149- Lee
157- Berge

This is what I think their lower weights will look like. I don't think anyone sits for more than a year. He will definitely fit in their lineup. Joey Silva would be my first choice of replacements. Several other good guys out there but they would all be significant step back, IMO

RBY has a ways to go for 141, Lee at 149? I thought Berge was there.
