we need to free up one scholarship for 2018 since CJ Fredrick committed in August. Who do you think leaves/gets Creaned after this year to make that happen?

I don't like to predict who will transfer before they do...we've had guys in the past:

Basabe: Horrible soph season...could have left.
Clemmins: Same thing.
Jok: Could easily have been fed up with the moped thing and just bailed.

and if they toughed it out I root for all our guys to tough out the hard times, lack of playing time, and battle.

I hear ya but see my post in the other thread. Do we even need someone to leave for Fredrick to get a scholarship. U get 13, right?

we dont need to free up a scholarship for Frederick for 2018..he understands fully he is a walkon his first year.
That was my understanding about Frederick. Question might be whether he is a walk on after 2018, until a scholarship becomes available and he earns it.

Serious Question....does Wagner go play football? I see his time getting limited even more this year.

We've got some great problems to have down the road.

We're over the scholarship limit but have Fran's kids as insurance policies should a super Blue Chip be available.
We're a solid year ahead of most programs in terms of commitments.
Not a single guy left last season (Jones...but a grad transfer..not really the same thing) which says tons about the program.
Fredrick and his decision to pay to play if he has to...screw Penn State and Nebraska (and others) scholarships. AWESOME!!!

Just feels like Fran showed up to class on day one and turned in his homework.

We'll see what happens after this season with some guy who clearly may want to play more minutes. But it isn't like guys are only staying because of the minutes the GET!! Fran's built something here. And were going to see the results of it on the court.

I don't see a problem carrying some extra players (especially the Mc boys), who want to be on the team even if they aren't on scholarship. I will be surprised if 1 or 2 players don't transfer out after this year. We will need to see how time is allocated among the players to have a better idea who those guys will be.

That's up to him. He certainly has the athletic ability to play football if he wanted to.

Well his only choice might be tight end bc I don't think he is a receiver at this level without the practice and, well, the TE positions on the FB team are pretty locked up for the next two years.

My guess is Patrick would be the walk on in 2019...IF necessary.
Fredrick understands the situation and is willing to walk on, but I agree that Patrick would be first choice. He deserves the scholarship, but no downside to him walking on.
