The University of Iowa announced Wednesday that tickets to the Hawkeyes' football game against Northern Iowa have sold out.

Iowa hosts the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. (CT) inside Kinnick Stadium. It is a "Fight For Iowa" game, so fans are encouraged to wear "Fight For Iowa" apparel.

Three-time Grammy nominee Pat Green will join the Iowa and UNI marching bands for a halftime performance of "Wave on Wave," the anthem of the Iowa Wave to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.

The University of Iowa previously announced sellouts to home games against Iowa State (Sept. 8) and Wisconsin (Sept. 22). Tickets to all games announced as sellouts are available at stubhub.com.

Tickets are available for home games against Maryland (Oct. 20, Homecoming), Northwestern (Nov. 10, Black Out Game), and Nebraska (Nov. 23, Hy-Vee Heroes Game).

I have no idea what "Fight for Iowa" gear is, either, but as far as attendance, the NIU opener was within a few hundred of a sellout, so that's a strong start. Kinnick looked full.

They sold a bunch of T-shirt that had that slogan on them. I have a gold one I wore last week. I believe that’s what they are referring too.

My guess is lots of UNI fans. Hope I am wrong but I am guessing there will be more UNI fans at this game than at any game in the dome this season.

I also suspect a lot of UNI fans. There were less single game tickets available for this one than ISU when single game tickets went on sale. That isn't a swipe at the Hawks-the crowd last week looked good and sounded great on TV. I think there is a lot of optimism among the fanbase this year, myself included.

Pretty good news, if we can have a strong start the remaining 3 should sell pretty well.
