I hope you are right, but it's a different animal once he competes when things count. Your last sentence pretty much defines our posters. You won't last too long on this site without a sense of humor.Mr Early will be just fine on here whether his son wins or loses. There is a reason he gravitates toward this board. He is vary adept at smart-assedness and as a result blends into this forum seemlessly....................
For those of you wondering what Larry Early (Minnesota) looked like at the UNI open today. Simply put--Not very impressive. Lost to Renaldo Rodriguez-Spencer of Iowa State in the semifinals (2-1) and then defaulted out to sixth place. He was nursing a heavily wrapped right shoulder harness, and really struggled with his offensive attacks. Obviously he carries some rather worthy credentials, but his health may deter his success at the next level. And no Freddy Stroker today as well. The Iowa-Minnesota dual late in the year WILL BE UGLY. Go Hawks!
If that happens... what are the odds we see a forfeit?hope so flem like to see Sorenson kemmer final
If that actually would happen and BG is effective at 141, Stoll continues to progress... I think the redshirt comes off, imo.No way Brands has them forfeit! Also think Kemerer beats Sorenson.
Don't understand why it would be necessary he's got a top guy that can challenge for a title in Sorensen at 149If that actually would happen and BG is effective at 141, Stoll continues to progress... I think the redshirt comes off, imo.
I guess I'm thinking maybe Kem is cutting a few pounds, with perhaps the ability to be effective(top4) at 157, and 2 months to make a splash.Don't understand why it would be necessary he's got a top guy that can challenge for a title in Sorensen at 149
That's the one I was looking for! Wish I was as smart as KWood.
Admittedly, I was a little hard on RRF, but he was too easy to manipulate. I still stand by my opinion that parents should not post.
I have my doubts about Sorensen's effectiveness as a 157lber next year. He doesn't appear big enough to make a weight class jump and compete for a NC.
I hope you're right as that gives the Hawks more options to a stronger team. But the ole eye test tells me I'm rightI can't agree at all. He's got good size and the leap to 157 from 149 isn't a big one. Sorensen may never be a truly elite college wrestler but he would be very good at either weight and a high AA at 157 with an offseason to grow into the weight.
Color me extremely skeptical. No way Brands has them forfeit! Also think Kemerer beats Sorenson.

I recall a Midlands blog by Andy Hamilton in which "will Clark forfeit to Ramos" came up every ten minutes. I thought Andy was going to blow a gasket as he patiently explained, "Iowa doesn't forfeit for extra team points. Ever"If that happens... what are the odds we see a forfeit?
Sorenson is top 6 next year at 49 or 57 which ever he goes. I just think he has a better chance of winning the title at 49. I don't think he beats IMart or Nolf.Next year I like Sorensen at 157 and Kemerer at 149.
So shorter guys can't beat taller guys ? Really now....
Imart may go up to 165 next year, just a rumor.
Marinelli did say 157 wasn't out of the question for next year. The fact that he is probably going 170 this year to make his team better probably will make that not happen. Is Marinelli starter at 65 next year? Who do we have there Paddock, Gunther, and Moody after Rhoads graduates. I still think we haven't seen the best Paddock yet. I'm surprised by how well Cooper and Rhoads our doing. Wasn't expecting much from them this year and they have been real close with some tuff guys. Looks like they have been working real hard to go out with a bang there senior year. Hopefully come tournament time they bring it all together and can contribute points!Next year I like Sorensen at 157 and Kemerer at 149.

I'm not in the room but I don't think Turk or Ryan is beating Carton right now. The only reason we have been seeing Ryan is because Carton has been battling injury. I don't think BG comes back flat. BG just like Cooper and Rhoads it's his senior year and he wants Togo out with a bang. It had to have really eat at him last year seeing BS take 4th, when he had beaten him early in the year. BG getting hurt at Midlands and then BS beating top level guys sealed it for BS. If Brody had not got hurt last year he very well may have won the spot. Keep the faith BG will be he man at 41. If he isn't expect Carton if healthy. Is it the 29th yet?Cooper will only get better as the season progresses. I wouldn't be surprised if he AA come March. I'm way more optimistic about Cooper at 57 in March then BG or anyone else at 41 unless they pull Turks RS.
Next year I like Sorensen at 157 and Kemerer at 149.

I just don't know where that comes from. Sorensen is a good sized 149 pounder. He's generally bigger than the other guy on the mat with him.
Kwoodhawk,
It would seem that I got my seems/seams messed up. It would also seem that you are equally skilled in both spelling and smart-assedness. I equally appreciate both skills................
No way Kemerer's shirt gets pulled. Both he and Sorenson will be title contenders next year. I think Kemerer will be at 57 with Sorenson at 49.
