UNI looks poor after good 1st half.

Carlson looks good with left hand.....I do recall some saying Lohaus should have been offered, but I don't see it. Jok is showing Fran was correct, Jok > Morgan.

We might be facing WSU in Des Moines in NCAA.

I would have argued for Morgan early in the season, but definitely not now. Lohaus might be a decent valley player, but not a Big ten player, as he is really not even a true PG.

Still don't want to face WSU. They are a very deep team, with great 2 great senior guards and that's the mold for March Madness success.

both of those teams have no inside game. You need good guards but if all you do is live on the perimeter you are going to have trouble.

They don't have a great post game, but it's Servicable with Grady, and Shaq Morris. Connecticut won twice with worse.

I know everyone had WItchita State ranked high preseason and all but they seriously had no business being ranked coming into this game.

Their top 3 wins are impressive(UNC, ISU, and @WS). If they keep their win streak rolling, they will get into the NCAA conversation.

Is the score for real, just saw a short glimpse on TV, in the 50's? Or not/

Even worse, UNI had 42 points at the 18 minute mark. Will say though, it wasn't just bad offense, pretty good defense was played by both teams, combined with not great offense.

Great ball game. Watched the whole thing. The low scoring was mostly due to vicious defense by both teams. UNI winning at Wichita is equivalent to Iowa winning at Indiana. It ain't easy. UNI could have folded a dozen times, but they manned up and refused to lose. I could see them winning the MVC tourney and making the NCAA. And they won't be an easy out if they do.

Not unless they win the Valley. Earlier I thought the MVC was a 2 bid league but not so much now unless WSU goes down.

Wichita probably will be sweating out selection Sunday if they lose in the mvc tournament. They have one top 90 rpi win, a home win vs Utah (16). Their next best win is two vs Evansville (98). UNI was 123 before the day and move up to 102. Wichita's rpi moved from 32 to 52 after the loss. If they lose again it'll be another 100+ rpi team most likely.

I agree the Valley will get one bid at most. Any valley team that wants to make the NCAA had better win the conference tourney. Right now, as I said, I like UNI's chances.

BTW: I just noticed that UNI scored 15 points in the second half yesterday...and WON by 3. I wonder how many teams have done that? I knew neither team was scoring much in the second half, but I was still shocked to see the numbers. That's what makes college basketball so much fun. The kids play hard every night, and ya never know what might happen...this year, perhaps, more so than any other.

If you hate running and enjoy watching the ball walked up the court and held until 5 seconds remain on the shot clock then Coach Jake is your man.

Did you see the game yesterday? That's not what Wichita or UNI did. UNI can and does run, but they can also play great D, which both teams did in the second half yesterday. I thought it was a great game to watch. The intensity was off the charts. I'll take that any day of the week.

I watched the final 12 minutes and was impressed with how hard both teams played. UNI did a great job in slowing Baker and Van Fleet down. Carlson played his best game. They dodged a bullet at the end on the baseline out of bounds, the kid was wide open. Hats off to Coach Jake, he seems to have righted the ship after a midsession slump.

Yes I saw UNI score all of 15 points in the 2nd half. Don't tell me they are not a tempo team.

UNI is 344th in the country with an average of 65.3 possessions per game. So yes they slow the ball down a lot.
