….Miss is just shocking to me. These are the best basketball players in the world playing in a very “un-congested” lane and still throwing it over the basket 🤦‍♀️

Women’s basketball at all levels is a tough watch at times! CC balled out and made it fun to see plays that many have never seen from another player of her gender! Missed layups is a lack of execution and free throws just a lack of focus and wanting to win! JJ needs time to get her players in but she’s not off to a very good start and this team needs immediate help at all positions next season!

Very few women players are great jumpers, so they aren't anywhere near the backboard to make a layup a guarantee.

Most guys will be nearly touching the rim.

According to this the average salary is a little more than $220k. So even if Kate is below average she's probably making double her WNBA salary.

They also get some type of equity in the league, which if this league takes off could be quite profitable

When fans whine about the struggle this year’s team is having, watch Kate Martin. Iowa did not just lose the GOAT, but Martin’s very talented. She looked very good today playing for a talented team.
Money Martin was money in several games during the NCAA tourney run. Her turnaround fade way jumpers in both the LSU game and UConn game were key in keeping the other team at a distance.

I heard that Lexi Hull has hardly seen the floor in the first two games with her team the Rose BC. There are a few different views as to why she hasn't seen much floor time. One is that she's on the wrong team, meaning she struggles to create her own shot. Another is that they might just be using her as a backup in case someone is injured. Another is that the coach is underappreciating her defensive capabilities. And of course, some are saying that she was just used as bait to get Clark into that league, and now there's no real need for her. Not sure if players can quit or be traded, but if this continues, maybe she should try to get moved or something else. I don't know. If anyone has an idea of why she's riding pine so much, I'd like to know. If she can get out of the league, then she can maybe focus on her offense and shot creation before next season. I also understand that she has just launched her own beauty brand with a company, so that's good news.

Will be. Last year the average was $130,000. Going up because of who hit the league last season and new TV money

Lexi really isn't that good, and shouldn't be starting for the Fever so I am not surprised. She had one good month shooting the 3 for Indiana but her first 2 years she shot 20% from 3, and was shooting similar to that this year until she went scorched earth for a month.

That's why I said this:

"If she can get out of the league, then she can maybe focus on her offense and shot creation before next season."

She's already a good defender. She's wasting valuable time when she can improve on the offensive side.

She’s “ok” meaning serviceable and belongs in the league but she is not a star. We are seeing 1st hand with Iow how much better CC truly makes people

I totally agree that Clark makes others better, but I never said that Lexi is a star. Lexi should be able to improve her offensive skill in the off-season. She has potential to be a good three and D. Catch and shoot, of course.

Going against NFL playoffs and the Natty definitely hurt them. It will be interesting to see what the audience is once football is done
And along with that, I watched the first half of a game between the Laces and some other team that I don't remember. Got through the half, but I couldn't muster up the energy to catch the 2nd half.

I actually like it, and I’ve watched all the games on my laptop while doing or watching other things. But…. Again with the dramatic amount of missed layups. These are the best women in the world & although I’ve gotten used to it & the playing under the rim vs over it, is truly a thing that needs to be considered. But for those of you that haven’t been watching, it is shocking, I mean shocking the amount of uncontested point blank, layups they miss.

Courtney Van Sloot sandwiched missed layups where she was completely alone one on a breakaway steal around multiple other people missing layups. Satou has not looked good, Sabrina has been meh. In fact, the girls that have been playing great Tiffany Hayes, Ryne Howard, Derica Hamby aren’t needle movers.

Now there has been some chippiness which I would think might help ratings and Naphees Collier and Kayla McBride are phenomenal, basketball players and great in this format.

But they too aren’t tuning people in?!

From the limited time I watched, I thought Hamby looked really good.

Ten minute highlight vids of the games on YT . Seems enough. Much rather watch actual games like Texas /Tennessee last night, TCU/OkSt the other night. I think it's just the 3x3 thing that lacks any weight.

I watched the first games and am looking forward to the next ones. Three things. I enjoy fast break type games. I like that the area in and around the paint area is not all jammed up. I like that players like Kate Martin that don't make tons of money like others, have a chance to pick up a pretty nice salary for just playing a few games. I hope the league can make it over the years ahead.

If making it financially over the years involves Caitlin being involved, they might want to eject/suspend players like Carrington who whacked Kate Martin in the head on a layup, to send a message that is not what the league is about. This is supposed to be an entertaining gap filler for the women to make some coin for themselves and the league and elevate their personal brands. If I'm Caitlin I wouldn't touch the league with a 10 foot pole until people understand that the brand people do not want to watch is 80s/90s NBA slugfest ball.

Carrington is a good player, maybe even better than good, but I have a hard time understanding why she feels the need to play the way she does sometimes.
