Iowa's schedule from now until the end of February really favors the Hawkeye's. Iowa has PSU, PU, and @PSU to finish January. I like Iowa's chances going 2-1 to finish the month. Iowa then gets a very favorable February slate. Of Iowa's 8 games in February only 2 games are against current teams in the top half of the conference while 6 are against the bottom 6 teams in conference. Iowa also gets 5 home games to 3 away games. 2 of the away games are against Maryland and Nebraska the two worst teams currently in the conference. Iowa has a great opportunity to go 8-3 during this stretch and 6-2 in February. You're not going to find a more manageable schedule in the B1G during this time where 8 of your next 11 games are against the bottom 6 teams in the conference and only 3 of those 8 games against the bottom 6 are on the road. Iowa really needs to take care of business during this stretch.

Iowa's upcoming schedule is also going to be key on gaining ground on Indiana and Rutgers who both have tough February's while also creating distance with Michigan and PSU the only 2 teams behind Iowa that have a shot at jumping Iowa. I think this season it is very important to land within the top 7 of the B1G. I think that 8th placed team will be on the outside looking in come selection Sunday.

I hate that at Penn St game, always have. Gonna be a grinder
Yeah I don't think Iowa can afford to drop a game to Penn St either. Iowa is going to need to get into the dance by total wins as they will be short on quality wins. I think they can get to 11 conference wins with the upcoming schedule and sweeping PSU will need to be a part of that. Iowa only has 4 games against quad 1 teams left amd two of those games are on the road. Iowa also is done playing Indiana and Rutgers the other two bubble type teams in conference. Not a lot of opportunity for quality wins left.

It's gut check time for guys not named Keegan. They cannot rely on him to carry the load every game. We allegedly have a plethora of good shooters, so guys need to start playing the NCAA tourney rides on every game, because it does.

I am old and get excited about coupons for deodorant, but the sleepwalking this team lapses into at times is troubling. Go play your asses off and if you lose, so be it. It's like some guys wilt when things get tough and that should result in a spot on the pine.

The defense was really steady at Rutgers but the offense was uncharacteristically stagnant, especially in the 2nd half. The offensive droughts like that cannot happen again this year!

I hope you're referring to the offense and not the defense with that last statement.

Said this before conference games started, .500 in league games is the minimum they've got to reach to get into the dance. Nothing has changed in that regard.

Agree. Fran needs to get comfortable scrapping Plans A and B when the team is sleepwalking like they were against Rutgers and tell Joe T. to take over. Very few guys can stay in front of Joe and he appears to be a much improved shooter from mid-range and 3. Joe is also $$ at the line unlike some other guys who I will not mention.
