***US Soccer***

The depth is very good, but to take the next step we need the cream to rise to the top. You have CP, WM, Jedi… then a bunch of guys who look great at times and disappear at others. Need more to step up consistently. Curious to see what things look like after next summer when Poch has more time with them.

Overall I like the depth, but we need to find CBs we can trust back there. In nations league matches, I believe our starting duo was Richards and Ream. Ream has proven far more reliable than I’d have thought 3 years ago…but he’ll be I think 38 at next WC. We really need to find someone to succeed him and find some depth. Just haven’t had guys really make that spot there’s in awhile.

Ream really aged well, but father time is undefeated... not sure how much longer he's got before he falls off a cliff.

The Pochettino Era is off to a promising start. Agyemang scored in both his appearances. Yet another up and coming solid striker.
I like having a 6'4" fast striker who can finish. Hopefully, he continues to improve like he has. Crazy to think he was a D3 college player and is now playing for the USMNT at age 24.

Well. Just lost to Panama in the semi final. Effing embarassing. Dominated the whole game. Scored on Panama's only shot of the 2nd half in the 94th min.

This team is not close to being ready for the WC.

We threatened their canal.
US Mens Soccer has sucked and been woefully inept for years. Nothing has changed... Why is now or this year any different? It isn't. We don't have enough players to compete on the world stage with the big dogs.

Big Dogs? We are playing Panama. That's a medium dog at best.

We are so more skilled than we were one or two decades ago but somewhere along the way the players lost the heart those other teams had. I don't know what it is, but so often they used to find ways to win against more talented teams. Maybe it is because they are so skilled they don't have the "team" feeling that they did in the past. Or something, I don't know. But I don't know how you fix it either.

In futbol, sometimes the focus is too much on skills and possession. Offensive playmakers are needed. Other than that, the US if fine.

I think playing in Europe most of them now are likely going along with European thinking of them being judged as players based on what they do for their club.

The previous teams who were with a few exceptions played mostly in the US likely and rightly believing that they would be judged as players based on what they did with the USMNT.

All of that affects the amount of heart they play with when they put on the national team jersey.

Well... today is worse than Thursday. What is this bull crap? Why are we incapable of producing against Canada?

Jessie Marsch has been shown red and since we have been clowned all 2nd half.

We are just too slow everywhere. Tim Weah and Diego Luna have been the only players with pride and life. The entire back line is a disaster.

I am slowly coming around to the idea that this team cannot win and I apologize a bit to GGG. Poch has to be wondering why he is in this mess.

US is the 4th best team in CONCACAF right now...

Canada
Mexico
Panama
USA

I believed in this squad so much but they just aren't good. Someone talk me off the ledge.

I also wonder how many players just aren't very motivated to play their best right now. I would have a hard time getting up to play these games myself.

We are a country of 330 million people. You only get to play about 10 games a year for your country. Find someone.

Diego Luna and Tim Weah were the only two people worthy of throwing on the crest today. That includes Adams, Pulisic, and certainly McKinnie and Reyna.

Honestly I think this goes to show that Berhalter was not the issue. Fans just vastly overrated this team.

They are still better than these last 2 results, but GB was not really holding us back.

He just got an early label as the nepotism hire and no amount of dominating CONCACAF could shake that label.

Quite frankly GB was the most unfairly hated coach I have ever seen. Dominated our rivals and CONCACAF. Yet you would go online and everyone would tell you how if it wasn't for GB holding us back we would have beat Mexico 4-0 instead of 2-0.

Nothing GB could have done would have ever been enough to make the fans happy.

It saddens me. I think I've been almost 30 USMNT games but haven't been since 2022. I took time off for the Copa America in KC but when tickets went of sale, it felt like a slap in the face with the prices so I decided not to go
We went and the US played terrible. We watched the women twice at 2015 WC in Canada so that will probably remain my soccer highlights.

Can USA quit soccer altogether?
Is there another up and coming sport we could dominate (no pickleball....)?
4-Square?
Bags?
Polish horseshoes?
