it's certainly not all that they do, but it's some of it. it is a soft power agency. and some of the things aren't really cia related, but are more about protecting us security rather than 'charity' in the strictest sense - like keeping weird african diseases in africa, and pepfar.There are so many examples of how they are using these NGOs created by our political overlords to do covert operations that the CIA use to do. I wonder how Russia got the idea for these bot farms??

my buddy was ex cia; at some point he was told that he should leave the agency and start a consulting group so that they could make sure the redev contracts that were going to run through aid ended up with people they knew would do them right.

With that being said, if stuff that is coming up is unethical and illegal does it not make sense to reform USAID? Charge these elites with the crimes us normal people would be charged with?

USAID shouldn’t be involved in anything like that. It has to be done within guidelines but the organization that is the face of the United States in terms of providing humanitarian assistance to the neediest parts of the world should be completely off limits. Period.

US isolationism has never ended well. But I'm sure THIS time will be different. And while we divorce ourselves from certain world events and long-time allies, we actively support an illegal invasion and land grab by one of the most repressive dictators in the world.
