Uthoff Draft Stock Rising

CyCity, just my opinion but 15/30 being 50% doesn't impress me. It just means Draft Express is best at guessing.

We don't know what is going to happen tonight, there have been plenty of people writing articles saying Uthoff MIGHT go sometime in the 20's.

You're no doing anybody any favors by quoting Draft Express alone. To me, it just shows your usual determination to cut down Iowa. You've still got a bias down in your gut and I don't understand why you even post on this board if not only to stick it to Iowa fans.

We'll find out tonight and I'm sure you will remind that you covered yourself saying you disagreed with your "best" Draft Express.

By the way, the higher Uthoff goes, the better for Iowa as well. It does make a difference for several reasons. Team need as opposed to just finishing the draft with best available being one.

I've asked before, are you some kid? You post like it.

This is just last year. I've said multiple times I do think Uthoff will get drafted and I hope he does. I posted the updated DraftExpress mock draft because it's the industry leader. I'm not trying to cut down anything. NBAdraft.net has Niang getting drafted but I didn't come here and post that, I posted the one that is proven to be the most accurate or "best at guessing". Man some of you guys are sensitive.

CyCity, it is not sensitivity, it is your posting history for those of us that bother to still read your posts.

Honestly, Dan, even though I disagree with CyCity from time to time, in general I appreciate some of the perspective he or she brings to this board. It's quite refreshing given some of the garbage posts other rival fans make on here.

In short, I think CyCity is just being honest and sincere and likes good discussion. I do too.

I just always assumed you were in Jr High School, an 8th grader perhaps. Is this wrong? (asking for a friend)

DraftExpress is the best out there and their updated mock draft has nobody from Iowa

http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2016/

Of the top 11 picks chosen so far Draft Express has 5 of the 11 in the correct spot for 100% of the players with #1-2-9-10 % 11 in the exact correct spot with the other six chosen but at a different spot..

Draft Express picks followed by the actual picks in tonight's draft

#3 chosen #5
#4 chosen #8
#5 chosen #6 Hield where several mock drafts had him being drafted
#6 chosen #7
#7 chosen #4
#8 chosen #3

There are 15 foreign players projected to be drafted by Draft Express only leaving 75% or 45 US players to be drafted. DE lists Sabonis as from Gonzaga but they introduced him as from his home country of Lithuania which would have made at least 16 foreign players.

I'm just joking. I just don't see anyway a team takes him in the first round when you can get guys like him in the second. He is 23 with a limited upside. Draft Express has been the most accurate mock draft site the past couple of years and he isn't listed in either round but the second round is a total crap shoot.

With regards to the Celtics I saw that Draft Express recently changed the Celtics first pick from Chris to Dunn.

I don't think he has limited upside. Although he is not as young as many prospects, he made significant strides in reaching his potential this past year and there still can be a lot more growth in his game. What it really comes down to for him is confidence and learning when to be aggressive and when to let the game come to him.

In terms of potential, what boxes does he not check? He has good size, good athleticism, can shoot from the perimeter and mid-range, and decent handles for his size. The one thing I think holds him back as a prospect more than anything is the fact that he has never been a great passer. He has the skill to be a good passer, and with his height he should be able to see the court well, but he's never averaged more than 2 assists per game.

What does the average variance and factor measure?
If variance is how close they are on average than they would be 3rd

I'm not sure to be honest. It's pretty apparent DraftExpress and Ford have separated themselves from the pack though

Jay Bilas doesn't even have Uthoff in his top 10 remaining. Silly. Has Ron freaking Baker ahead of him

Edit: Just moved to #10, #9 with the 53rd pick

4 left to be drafted. They at least have Uthoff listed as the 9th best pick left.

I don't think so but Georges Niang was the 50th pick to the Pacers and Marcus Paige at #55 to the Nets but is being traded to the Jazz.
You were right about Nader but I don't know how you saw that as soon as you did. I didn't see 3 of the last 4 picks live as they were having commercials. I never dreamed Nader would get picked.

Now that's really really gotta upset Hawk fans. They were sooooo sure Uthoff was the sure fire superior NBA prospect. Georges Niang and Abdel Nader clearly went out and showed otherwise. Hawk bball can't catch a break.

Adrian Wojnarowski was scooping ESPN by 2-3 picks all night on Twitter.

The real stunner would be if either of those guys makes a team.

"Can't catch a break"?

The league is all about talent. Nobody gets a "break". Those who can, do. Those who can't, make good money elsewhere, sometimes. The rest hang around their college town and live in the bubble of former players hanging on.

Fun Fact: Iowa State had more players taken in the NBA Draft in 20 minutes (2) than the Hawks have in the past 15 years (1). That trend has got to end Hawk fans.

Well, technically no because Adam Haluska got drafted along with Aaron White last year. It's just one of those things for Uthoff. The draft is so unpredictable. After all, JR Koch got drafted his senior year, and I think it's a no-brainer that Uthoff has more to offer than Koch ever did. You just never know.

But I see this has brought the Cyclone fans out in droves. Funny how that works.

Iowa had Devyn Marble two years ago, and Aaron White last year???

You have a good troll going, at least get your facts right

What does Hawk bball have to do with the NBA Draft? Only a moron would turn this into a Hawkeye vs. Cyclone dick measuring contest. I guess we know where you stand with Sigmund Freud.

This could end up working out for Uthoff. Right now his phone could be ringing off the hook from teams begging to have a player of his caliber on their roster. Look forward to seeing where his pro career goes from here.

When does this third round start up? It was pretty much guaranteed JU was to get drafted I want to see this happen for him.
Turn in your card.

Stupid is as stupid does. SMH, SMH, SMH, so sad for you.

My bad,.......now I get it. Well played.
