You really think white people act "routinely to harm, demean and damage black and brown people"?Those calling for his job only further prove his point.
As far as the actual message, I see nothing wrong with his opinion.
Good point...it was no doubt a white department head who hired this guy in the first place. Black privilege you think? You really think white people act "routinely to harm, demean and damage black and brown people"?
Careful, that's some of that presumption I was talking about.Good point...it was no doubt a white department head who hired this guy in the first place. Black privilege you think?
Not presumption bud...it is a known fact,Careful, that's some of that presumption I was talking about.
There are "liberals" and there are "radical liberals"...somehow you strike me as the former not the latter. For some reason I can't bring myself to feel responsible for the Baltimore riots. Nothing like making a racist argument against racism to make sure any valid points you might have can't be heard professor. I guess I'm a bad little liberal.

His 'opinion' looks like it could incite more violence to me.
Reverse it......I'm a white prof at a university, I broadly generalize about how black stupidity is the root of all the problems in the USA, whites should start recording black stupidity everywhere they encounter it - nothing wrong with that message? Should my employer protect me from spouting off and instigating problems?
If we spent our time recording stupidity no one would have time for the worthy pursuits...like golf and fishing. His 'opinion' looks like it could incite more violence to me.

You might want to reserve judgment, I like to keep it interesting. There are "liberals" and there are "radical liberals"...somehow you strike me as the former not the latter.
If it was done as an individual and not as a spokesman of the University I don't think you should be fired. You have every right to pen an editorial as your opinion.

CORRECT.
And we as a society have every right to form an opinion that this man has made a stupid statement. He should and will suffer consequences from those who don't like the opinion. Those could range from loss of credibility, loss of earnings power, and perhaps all the way to loss of job.
You are perhaps smart enough to flip this around and think about the outrage if the races were reversed? I say perhaps, because, well, I just don't know...
That was my response to a flipped scenario in the post I replied to.
