Very impressed

Have to say the delay between the first and second parts of today's session, while prohibiting leaving and re-entry, was awkward and inconvenient, but overall, it was a very well-run event. No doubt about it.

This. I agree that the tournament was generally well run, but today's long break with no re-entry policy was a real negative. I wasn't a fan of how traffic was handled, either. Don't know why they insist on creating their own traffic bottlenecks by closing several exits from parking lots. Seems kind of dumb to me.

Agreed ^^. I would add too that the confusion over whether there were 3 sessions or 4 was completely self inflicted. I thought I was the only one a bit confused by that, but I heard three other people today with the same opinion and I wasn't asking anyone about it.

The break was excessive...BUT it was made FAR WORSE due to the exceptionally long lines for ice cream cones during this time!!! MANY, MANY dollars were left "on the table" as the long lines discouraged many people from getting cones...I know, I was one of them!:D:eek::D

I would have loved to have had an ice cream truck pulled up to the back of CHA for that 1-1/2 hours today!

With the way Iowa has run the BIG tournament! Large scoreboard displays with mat info, including upcoming matches, large screens with bracket updates, everything running smoothly, easy for spectators to follow.
It was a very good run tournament. The large floor scoreboard was a great addition. I sat in the upper portion of the arena and was very disappointed in the loud speaker system. I thought i was at McDonalds outside speakers to begin with and never could hear any announcements. Someone needs to bring this to the people in charge. I can't believe no one from all the basketball games don't complain.
As far as the timing goes after the morning round and the finals was a joke. One and one half hours was terrible. But they probably made an extra $50,000 ( $5 per person on food and drinks X 10,000 people). If they would have had four sessions than they would have lost all the vendor money. Hugh pay day.....$$$

Aka........ repeat of national duals no re-entry from last year

As soon as I seen starting time was pushed to 12:00p, knew they would pulls same BS

I posted this thread before the third session. I agree the interim wait was poor planning on someone's part. Maybe that was Big Tens doing?

Would have loved Sunday to have a 9 am wrestleback and noon finals. Makes for a long drive that night.

Overall, great job by the U of I team.
