Here is video of what happened at the homecoming parade. President Wolfe is in the red car that gets stopped. Several people I know said they had protesters scaring the crap out of their kids. Numerous families were at this parade.

A single asian reporter/photographer is being accused of stopping a group of black students from walking forward but a group black students (?) will stop a car in the middle of a street from moving forward. And that's okay.

Could be...

Yes. Innocent families with kids should not have been mixed up in this shit.

I'm just wanting to make clear, this is a homecoming parade where:
Large, noisy vehicles proceed, often honking their horns, like, you know, firetrucks
People are yelling, cheering, clapping, etc.
Things are presumably being thrown, candy, flyers, coupon books, pencils, etc.
Often each different "group" wears similar clothing, a similar theme, and approach and encounter the bystanders

......and they were scared of a group of people wearing similar clothing who are marching "towards them" and yelling in bullhorns.

Does that sound accurate?

You're going to compare these two things?
1. racial protests in aggressive behavior with bullhorns and restricting the movement of people at a parade (if you're going to impede someone's ability to move, I wouldn't call that passive behavior)
2. people tossing out candy

Is that going to be your final answer?

You think toddlers should have been in the middle of this?

Good to see now you need to resort to lowering the age to make your point. What, again, were the "toddlers" in the middle of? Loud people at a parade who were MARCHING?

Or, you know, loud black people at a parade?

A heated protest of any kind. Black or white...and up to 4 is toddler.

What was the aggressive behavior, that isn't comparable to behavior at a parade?

Seriously, specifically delineate what they were doing. So far we've been told they were a) marching, b) towards people, c) yelling with bullhorns. A and C routinely occur at parades, probably including this one. B is some vague description, but still applies to pretty much every scenario.

But, since you've tried to limit it to make your point, this is the part that is chicken shit. That somehow CANDY is the difference, if they give out CANDY we approve, if they talk about political/racial/whatever issues it is a NO GO. That is pathetic.

Maybe you don't think "toddlers" should be "in the middle of this" either. So, pray tell, were these scary people marching right up to TODDLERS and yelling at them through bullhorns? The video most certainly doesn't show that.

Also, they appear to be restricting the parade....not stopping the bystanders (you know, the ones who are supposedly frightened)

They were "parading" the wrong way. You really don't think kids understand that wasn't supposed to be part of the show and felt the "conflict" that these tool bags were creating?

For the love of all that's good, WHY disrupt a freaking parade? That's obnoxious.

You went from "kids" to "toddlers", are you saying that was for any other reason to try and manipulate the claim you made earlier? You are the one with the friends involved, tell us specifically what they were doing to TODDLERS other than standing in the middle of a parade, protesting, being loud.....and black?

See, you think I disagree with this, but I don't.

It is the idea that they are SCARING THE CRAP OUT OF KIDS that becomes the rationalization against it. That is what is chicken shit, that in 2015 a bunch of, presumably, college kids wearing similar clothing and discussing political issues are scary.

I seem to remember being at a 4th of July parade and this scary Indian looking guy came up to me wanting to talk politics, I guess my toddlers and I should have ran away?

Keep trying to bait me. I'm past caring what you think.

That video in the OP is 10 minutes long, which part is scary?

They start by turning on sirens on their megaphones (every parade, ever), and saying, "Hi there folks how are you doing ... we have something for you." "Power, Power!" "Thank you so much for your patience ... white supremacy".

Then a bunch of college kids take turns talking about the history of their university and ties to racism.

So which minute/second should I watch to prepare for the safety of my toddlers?

The part where the parade is stopped so these asshats can recite a list of their grievances and demands? They should have sicced the police dogs on 'em.

Of course they should. This is exactly what people need to be exposed to.

The US would absolutely be better off if more people discussed, and even protested, the issues they care about. Instead they want to get their candy, hit up starbucks, and be home for reruns of the Mentalist.

How wasn't it peaceful? Wait, what do you think peace is?

Okay, you're driving in your car and a bunch of goons jump out in front of you and impede your movement.

Would you consider this infringement upon your liberty to travel freely a peaceful act? You are being forcibly stopped from leaving.

Your authoritarian law and order roots are showing.

If you want to stand in the town square and scream out your list of grievances, that is absolutely allowed and proper. But if you want to force people to remain in the town square and listen to you, then your rights have ended where everybody else's rights begin.
