So what term would you prefer for rhetoric where you suggest rounding up citizens and deporting them for being opposed to Trump? Is there a less icky word you'd prefer people use when Trump talks like a fascist?
Since I am not a Trump supporter I think you can use any derisive term you wish.
But I am of the opinion that if the term Fascism gets thrown around so easily it should be used as a point of fact rather than as an emotional pejorative.

Just read that post and characterize it, there doesn't need to be any Dems trying to distract from Biden, or trying to sell anything to me, there's no need to try to distract away from it, or change the subject to whether Trump could actually "use fascism effectively".

I think this is normally a fair criticism because, you're right, "fascism" does get thrown around a lot by liberals and lefties when what they're reacting to is just standard conservative fare they oppose. The comments in the Trump post in the OP is not one of those occasions. Now there are real life avowed fascists in America right now who are plugged in with some slightly less fringe right wing movements. They are small in number and powerless. For now. Ideally the rhetoric Trump is using in his OP is bluster that will all be forgotten if he's reelected and just goes right back to watching coverage of himself on Fox News daily. I am happy to look silly for calling this out as fascism if it never comes to pass that this small group of fascists get better at organizing and are able to gain a larger and larger following as things like endless war and migration movements away from famine stricken areas destroyed by climate change progress. Until I feel confident we have some kind of concrete plan for mitigating the inevitable crises of the next century, I am going to worry about the resurgence of fascism or whatever new term we want to come up with for abandoning our own vulnerable citizens and turning our backs on the world that is burning up and starving in part thanks to the carelessness of our salad days.
