Virtually Indistinguishable from Hitler in 1934

Who wouldn't be afraid of Lying Donnie Sexual Abuser? At least we should be as a president where he'd try to wield unchecked power. Anybody that aspires to be a dictator we ought to be afraid of. Trying to cast aside our Constitution and our democracy does that. Damn right we ought to be scared. Thanks for pointing that out. At least now not as an unhinged president, he's only a ridiculous buffoon that people mock.
I’ll ask again - care to debate who has been more of a dictator?

Why take time to go to the island when you don’t have to leave your own house…
Is that how Lying Donnie Sexual Abuser lured in Stormy and Karen, his porn queens prostitutes? Thanks for pointing that out, good job! Heck, they only cost him $130,000 each. Be proud, be president!

What is Lying Donny Sexual Abuser's favorite number? Hint: it's 91.

Trump's a crazy mofo ... this shit's crazier

Now fire away 😃
goldmom liked your post. That should tell you that you’re on the wrong side of this.

Except his burning desire to be like those he has already told us he loves... Putin and KJU. He loves him those murderous dictators and would love to try and 'rule' like that. Hes told us that already. Nobody knew Hitler was Hitler til it was too late. Don't keep burying your head in the sand here.
This. Trump says evil crazy stuff and Republican voters just ignore it.

All the OP says is that the tweet is virtually indistinguishable from Hitler in 1934. Is that true or false?

The OP did not say Trump the man is comparable to Hitler the man.

I don’t think Trump is a fraction as evil as Hitler, but I do think Trump is more dangerous than some people want to believe. I greatly regret not taking the threat as seriously as I should have.

Trump really is a deranged lunatic and it’s downright scary how many Americans still believe in him. I will never again judge the German people from the 1930s and ‘40s. A lot of Americans are not much better.
This. Precisely.

Lol. There’s a reason the Dems on this board have compared him to Hitler literally hundreds of times.

I would say it’s fair to say that some of Trump’s rantings sound fascist. But I’m going to let you in on a little secret. The Nazis weren’t the only fascist regime in the history books.

As it happens, they are the only fascist regime in history that systematically murdered 11 million innocent civilians and started the most devastating war in world history. Which is why Hitler is the go-to fascist dictator when it comes time to compare Trump to a fascist dictator.

The other fascist dictators that didn’t kill tens of millions of people just don’t have that same “Wow!” factor.

I haven't scrolled through all 4 pages but I think it's safe to assume no one agreed on anything because arguing is pointless. 😀

Trump's going to die before we get our dictator but his movement won't die unless we get our shit together. Our dictator isn't going to wind up like Hitler or Mussolini unless we start a war with China. Our guy will be victorious like Franco or Pinochet and we'll get to enjoy decades of nonstop McCarthyism.

Okay?

And your point to me is what exactly? I think I made it clear the parallels end at the rhetoric.

Okay?

And your point to me is what exactly? I think I made it clear the parallels end at the rhetoric.
If the parallels end at the rhetoric then what is even the point of drawing the parallels in the first place? Adolf Hitler wasn’t Adolf Hitler because of rhetoric. If the worst thing Hitler ever did was make incendiary speeches then none of us would even know who he was. Hitler holds a permanent place in the history books precisely because of the things he did after he made the speeches. The evil that he and his followers perpetrated is the reason everyone knows who he was.

Charles Manson committed petty theft as a young man. But if the worst thing he ever did was commit petty theft, no one today would know who Charles Manson was. We remember him as evil incarnate specifically because of the brutal mass murders he ordered his followers to commit. But we don’t compare everyone who commits petty theft to Charles Manson. That would be absurd.

So unless you’re sounding a warning bell - as The_Devil did when he quoted Martin Niemöller - then what purpose does it serve to invoke Hitler for comparison purposes?

1. Powerful and continuing national shaming - what the fugg does this even mean? sorry if you got your feelings hurt because not everyone gets the same patriotic boner you do when the national anthem is for some goddamned dumb reason played before sporting events

2. Disdain for humanity (ecological terrorists) - oh yeah vandalizing protective casing and not actually harming anyone but all the History Channel dads get their fee fees hurt because some punks would like for the planet to be habitable for our species in the future

3. Identification of enemies at school board meetings - show me the pogroms of these nutty Protestant/evangelical busybodies and let's see how that compares to these assholes accusing everyone who is against their dogshit agenda of being pedophiles and groomers.

4. Rampant Wokeism (well, that's what it is) - oh good the right wing boogeyman for when they get their fee fees hurt because normal people find their "jokes" unfunny and a lot of their opinions fukt up

5. Controlled Mass Media (congrats, you've had this one in the bag for a long time) - this isn't your fault Sooner but every conservative in the world is an absolute moron about who controls mass media. Sorry they don't use your preferred slurs in the broadcasts, but the mass media is owned and controlled by capitalists (actual capitalists, not people who have full time jobs who call themselves capitalists). Their agenda is profits. You can get your news with the slurs included on Rumble.com if this is something you really need in your life.

6. NO concern for national security (borders of course) - This is one I want to see the supposed an-caps and the good ole boys argue about. See who the real capitalist believers are. For my part I will say I don't value the life of an American over that of a Guatemalan but I can't really defend that beyond having been educated in a Catholic school where they teach Christianity rather than Christian Nationalism like they do at most rural public schools

7. Labor Suppressed (via cheap outside labor): - here we go! round two right wing infighting among the an-caps, the good ole boys, and the neoliberals. What does good ole boy Sooner think we should do? I sure hope he has some sympathy for the idea of a massive resurgence in organized labor because there is absolutely no an-cap, neoliberal, or fence-sitting centrist who wants any part of protectionist policies designed to punish companies prohibitively who donate to their campaigns and offshore any jobs they can. Also no way they want any part of policies designed to punish companies who use a lot of undocumented labor. The old conservative vanguard destroyed what was left of organized labor so we can be sure right now the only people who actually give a shit about this are leftists. Someone's going to suggest this is happening because of anti-business US taxation and that is a pretty ridiculous take when you take a look at the wage savings from offshoring or hiring undocumented immigrants.

8. Corruption of Intellectualism (see CG and Harvard) - really not sure what this means but I'm all for destroying the 'private' aspect of elite universities and turning them into state schools. sure would be nice to mitigate just a little bit of the importance of the "who you know" in life where possible. But I'm willing to bet there's still plenty of intellectualism at those institutions even if it turns out a lot of the staff at those places aren't actually infallible.

9. TOTAL LAXITY on Crime and Punishment - i'm sure you're talking about rampant wage theft, general corporate malfeasance that harms the public, and banks and insurance companies abusing customers. agreed we need to make an example of corporate america

10. Strong One-Party Elections - can't tell if you're talking about candidate (not incumbent President) Trump not participating in much of the normal parts of his party's nomination process or if you're talking about Dems unfortunately sticking to the custom of nominating their incumbent. or if you're one of those "it's a uniparty" guys
1. Gotta admit, there's more limp dicks on the left.

2. Al Gore is the dreamiest, huh?

3. Parents at school board meetings are not terrorists.

4. Go back to your college safe space.

5. Even you don't believe that.

6. I value an American veteran on the street more than an unvetted Guatamalean.

7. Better syntax would have helped this word jumble.

8. I'll go along with reducing the "who you know" factor.

9. We don't have to take our collective foot off the necks of street criminals to place a foot on blue collar criminals, but that's what you wanna do ...

10. Nah, the disallowing of an opposition candidate thingy.

1. Gotta admit, there's more limp dicks on the left. - I really don't worry about who's dealing with ED. Super easy to get pills online for that now if that's on your mind for some reason.

2. Not my type. But I really do feel big when I shit on activists who happen to be right about the way things are going because their nonviolent methods offend me

3. Parents at school board meetings are not terrorists. - Usually not. But some of the more active Facebook users who attend those meetings do love a good witch hunt and apparently you think they have carte blanche to baselessly accuse educational professionals of being pedophiles without receiving any pushback?
4. Go back to your college safe space. - Define wokeism and explain to me how this isn't just more free speech.

5. Even you don't believe that. - the fuk I don't. The nutso position is yours. "These capitalist enterprises are focused on the political agenda of some of their employees and it's not about making money." I suppose there's more demand for content upsetting to conservatives.

6. I value an American veteran on the street more than an unvetted Guatamalean. - because you're a Christian Nationalist and not an actual Christian. Stuff like this is how I taught myself anti-Protestant bigotry which I've only been trying to shake off recently.

7. Better syntax would have helped this word jumble. - I would bet you're largely opposed to organized labor and I would bet you're a build the wall guy. Within the conservative world of "oh we're the adults who understand economics" y'all will need to reach some consensus on if any protectionism like "build the wall and force companies to hire Americans" is acceptable to conservatives. That is completely at odds with anarcho-capitalism and neoliberal capitalism. So you all need to get that sorted out if you want to make any goddamn sense talking about your plans for the working man.

8. I'll go along with reducing the "who you know" factor.

9. We don't have to take our collective foot off the necks of street criminals to place a foot on blue collar criminals, but that's what you wanna do ... - we don't have to fearmonger constantly about the threat that criminals pose to our society and we could also maybe try a little more aggressive social democracy because it actually seems to work quite well in wealthy nations like ours

10. Nah, the disallowing of an opposition candidate thingy. - well that does sound really scary when you omit all the context, I have to give you that

The rhetoric clearly shows Trump’s state of mind. The choices are not binary. Just because I don’t believe Trump is promoting let alone intending to one day round up millions of people to exterminate them doesn’t mean the only alternative in the way of rational thought is that the rhetoric is innocuous.

Far from it.

The man is a ****ing lunatic who is inspiring a lot of equally demented people to believe a lot of crazy shit. That is not only not okay it’s dangerous.

Highlighting how the rhetoric stacks up to Hitler’s provides perspective on just how insane Trump and his merry band of sycophantic idiots are. In that context, exposing the parallels is very appropriate.

In short, everyone on the side of America and sanity needs to take the existential threat that is Donald Trump more seriously.

This is the most sobering lesson from all this. If you can channel people’s anger and hatred, there is no limit to what they will accept. I never before would have believed this about our country.
I wouldn’t have either until Trump.

After all of the capricious defenses of Trump publicly declaring that he would encourage Russia to attack our allies, I don’t think a bottom exists for these people.

If Trump stated this weekend, “We need to round up all brown people and put them in internment camps until we figure out what the hell is going on,” not a single one would question it let alone hesitate to defend it.

I’ve made excuses for Republicans for too goddamn long. At this point, everyone needs to have a “come to Jesus” moment and figure out if they want to be on the side of good or the side of evil. The choices are that distinct.

That’s fine, but from what I’ve read from you, you seem reasonable and intelligent. Just curious what your opinion is on where I’m going wrong.
I don't think you're "wrong" per se, I just think there's a hypothetical in there to reach the conclusion.

If Trump stated this weekend, “We need to round up all brown people and put them in internment camps until we figure out what the hell is going on,” not a single one would question it let alone hesitate to defend it.

Well, Trump was president for 4 years and didn't advocate that. I haven't heard him advocate that. If he did, I'd say the Hitler comparison would have more merit.

I think a better comparison would be Viktor Orban. Jumping to the architect of mass genocide and world war instigator Hitler is a reach, to put it mildly.

It’s because the Dems are insisting that their guy currently in office is fine and everything is just great.

No, I think he has lost a step from his prime.

But he continues to negotiate through major legislative packages and accomplish things that will help Main St Americans for decades.

That works for me.
