If Chittum truly can't make 149 then I think it would be worth it to kick the tires. Had an up and down RS Freshman year (17-13 record), finished 2-2 (R16) at NCAA's with a win over #9 Abas. Was #12 on the 2021 HS Big Board. I'd say he's still got potential and a higher level to be reached. Younger brother Kael currently #73 on the 2024 big board - 145 lbs. (Dru Ayala #56 for reference - so more of a legacy/family/depth recruit on that front, at least as of now). Could be a bonus to tap into the Stillwater HS room a year early and get the pipeline started to steal Lockett from the Cowboys in 2025.

Round of 16 as a frosh isn’t a room guy. He came along quite a bit as the season wore on.

That said…agree that he’s not a must.
