Two words - CJ Frederick....

And a few other words, Luka is unreal this year. But without JBo, someone needed to step up bigtime. And that is CJF. His overall play is spectacular. I do not think there is a more gifted, well rounded player on the team. Offense, defense, basketball IQ, intangibles, etc... He is right up there with JW & LG. AND we get him for 3 more years!! Hell yes I love the redshirt!!! Same goes for Connor, and hopefully Patrick & Nunge.

With our incoming recruiting class, this program looks set for the next 4-5 years, and beyond. And set on a very high level. The future looks bright Iowa. Enjoy the ride!

Three words - Go Hawks!!!
Have to disagree on one point. I'll put Luka as the most gifted well rounded player. CJF has been an OUTSTANDING addition, and thrilled to have him for three more years, BUT, the Garzilla has shown up EVERY game, no matter the defense, who or where we're playing. He's been ridiculously consistent on offense, solid on defense, and his basketball IQ is as solid as anyone. I'd probably go CJ 2nd (although I think some games he needs to hunt his shot more), with Weezy right there behind him.

Lost:
Cook
Baer
Moss
Bohannon

Gained:
CJF
Toussaint
Evelyn

Garza's improvement has been monumental, once every 10-20 years type player
Weezy's improvement about as expected
Cook, Individually was a beast, but offense flows better this year
CJF has been much better than most expected, especially on defensive end
Have not seen the stats but have to assume we have less turnovers this year, more efficient
Defensive stats have to be better this year
Toussaint has brought an element, albeit inconsistent, that we have not had in ages
Baer's spark is missed, though Kriener has been solid from a points/rebounds standpoint
Moss was a fantastic 3 point shooter, but brought little else. Below average passer. Below average defender. He could have been 6th man of year, but dont fault him for going to KU.
Obviously JoBo missed from leadership and outside shooting vantage point, though we are better defensively
Connor has had a marked improvement

Add it all up
*Player of the year candidate
*Two Top 5 Scorers in B1G
*Freshman of Year candidate in B1G
*6th man of year candidate in B1G (fading a little)
*Connor Swiss Army Knife Player of Year?
*Better team defense
*Better offensive efficiency
*Shorter rotation?
