But if we call time out, then we have to inbound the ball, which you saw vs Illinois can be a challenge.
Yeah I don't think we can do that on the sideline can we? I assume you meant the ball would be near Iowa's end of the court with 20sec left.
Why would they need to call a timeout? Everyone already knows the play is pass to Gesell, dribble, and shoot, while the rest of the team pretends to try to get open.
Funny that we had some real good out of bounds plays this game....best all year.... Yet we don't do anything different at the end of the game. If we are going to continue to do this then spread the floor for goodness sake. Give him a lane to drive in and if someone cheats to help on defense kick it out for the open shot. In most cases I don't blame MG....he has nowhere else to go.
Totally agree with firing a coach after we won 12 games in the Big 10 in back to back seasons for the first time in about 20 years, made it to three straight NCAA Tournaments for the first time since the early 90's, and are graduating a senior class with the second most wins in school history because said coach doesn't call as many timeouts as I would like him to. 
Fran needs to incorporated the air ball into his planning. Gesell's problem in past is he has been catching some rim or side back board in misses. Getting a clean air ball was key for that put back.
